As for where we go from here, it's obvious: BUY A BLOODY WORLD CLASS STRIKER, that's the main priority. In the summer let's get a world class striker, get Draxler, and that's excellent business. We will also need to replace some outgoing players, should both Fabianski and Viviano leave, we would need a new GK, also should Sagna leave, we'd need a new RB, and if TV left too, we'd obviously need a new CB, though if all our defenders stay, I still think we need at least 1 more cb, having 3 cb's is too short, imagine either Mert or Kos got injured in the last 2 months when TV was out, then what? Put in Sagna, but then we lack cover at RB if Jenkinson got injured, plus Sagna at CB weakens us because he's much better at RB.

The annual collapse has clearly left some on here incapable of debate without insults so I'm wasting my time here. But anyway, Bayern are a lot lot better than City, never mind the rest of the Premier League. One or two players won't change that.

Hahahah I was going to say that, I was re-editing my comment and going to say don't hide behind the insult excuse after I pillage your points, that's what you ALWAYS do, you come talking **** like an arrogant ****, I put you down, and you cry like a bitch. f**k off man.

You always get your ass spanked on your rubbish points, and you don't have an answer, so you hide behind "oh they're insulting me wawawawa", as for civilised debate, is that what you Chelsea ****ers are doing on your board when you want to constantly take the piss out of our club and Wenger? Again **** off, eat a dick, how's that for an insult? Stupid jerkoff.

So now that we have your crying out of the way, address the point:

How are Arsenal miles behind you when in the previous 2 seasons 1) we finished above you, 2) in the last season you finished only 2 points above us 3) this season we are only 4 points behind you with a lot to still play for

    Answer it.

Seriously, this cocky ****er comes here and then he cries when I insult him for being cocky, and yet on his own board, when his fans constantly mock us, he doesn't do or say **** about it. Now he wants to play the victim here, well a big **** HIM.

yeah but dont forget , you cant really count this season as that team recovering from the last manager .
That team isnt Maureens team .

I suspect in the summer they will spend a sh1tload of money on new players .

We will not , so in real terms im sure we WILL slip behind further than we are now.

I think THIS season was our chance , i fear we have blown it .

and before anyone starts saying its only a few points behind ..........thats NOT the point .

We needed to stay consistent when we were miles ahead .
We couldnt even do that .
Now we are playing catch up and i just do see any fight in this side , the united game was a real eye opener.

Around this time last season and the season before that we actually started hitting our straps so the annual collapse is something of a misnomer. I would agree with you that we've had some bad recent results though which coincides with the more difficult run of fixtures. Same towards end of last year. Unlike some people though I think we've overachieved this season and I am happy to see us competing with the sides at the top of the league again.

It all depends on what we do, if Wenger does what we're all crying out for, buying a world class striker etc, then we can continue, if we signed Suarez this season, we would've won the league. Wenger needs to spend again in the summer.

But which will be the more disheartening .

Starting the season terribly and then finishing on a crescendo ...to the relief of all .
Or starting well , building to a good period at the TOP of the table ..then letting it all slip away at the end due to under investment .

:D, I do insult good don't I? ;), but it's not like I'm doing it to innocent bystanders, :D, he's a Chelski fan who talks so much **** about our club, just visit their board and watch them taking the constant piss out of us, so they deserve it.

Obviously number 2, though even for number 1, it's still disheartening that we were just scrapping for top 4, I don't look back fondly at all at the previous 2 seasons, very very low points for us, even though yeah we got top 4, had some good results, it was just not good enough to be so far from competing, and just barely getting into the top 4. In fact for the money we were paying, the last 2 seasons were a major disgrace, paying the highest tickets and ST's to watch us fight for 4th spot.

Well he can't be that dumb to not buy a striker in the summer, there is no excuse, you have 3 months, players are available, no January-type excuses.

I'm also still in the middle on whether Wenger should or shouldn't be given a new contract, I'll make that judgement at the end of the season, not on his transfer business. The bare minimum I expect, is 3rd at least, and the cup, anything less and then it's maybe bye bye time for Wenger.

along with the "Arsenal bottle the big games ."

we bottle the SMALL games you fools ., dont you know nuffink ?. <laugh>

The last 2 seasons we have finished much stronger than we started.

While it's true we have marched on in the previous 2 seasons around this period, there have actually been collapses too. In 2012 we practically got knocked out of Europe and the cup in the same week, and last year, again, lost to Blackburn and got knocked out by Bayern, the only difference is that the collapse wasn't total and didn't affect our league performance.

    League table 6 weeks ago = http://www.statto.com/football/stats/england/premier-league/2013-2014/table/2014-01-18

    League table now = http://www.statto.com/football/stats/england/premier-league/2013-2014/table

Nothing to do with being cocky. I've kept my feet on the ground all season long and still think City will win it. Spurs are more than capable of taking points off us but if you ask any of their fans which team they'd rather face out of Chelsea and Arsenal they'll probably say the latter.

Going back to the OP, Bayern are on another level to everyone else in England and it will take years to turn that around, they've built a real dynasty there and have the ability to dominate for years both domestically and in Europe. Aside from them I don't think the PL's current top 4 is that far behind La Liga's top three.

What it boils down to is that we cannot compete in all the competitions at once and only once we've got nothing else to focus on do we start performing better in the league. Hence the upturn in league performances after being knocked out of all competitions. Just my opinion..
