Hate having loads of time off and then the night before work is horrible, reminds me of school at the end of the 6 week holidays
Im absolutely hanging today, stinking hangover annd virtually lost my voice Got thrown out of the gig
Still got another 6 days to take as holiday this year before the end of the month. Gonna take a week off to do **** all #goodtimes
I only get three weeks a year... sucks to work in US... and hospitals are even worse because we're open 365¼ days a year. That three weeks holiday means- if I take Christmas day off- it counts as one of my 15 days. If I'm sick. It counts as one of my 15 days. Obligated days off (family kill you if you don't) - Xmas day, Thanksgiving, July 4th, New Years, etc. take up about a week- which means you only get 2 weeks... and if you're sick... less than that. If I had a bad illness that kept me out a week- I'd only get a week's vacation that year. America being so money focused, you'd think they would read the studies that show that people are more productive when they have plenty of vacation time- and that as unintuitive as it sounds- someone taking more time off actually does more in a year than people that take less time off. (I'm sure there is a tipping point where that is no longer true).
Crap that's bad. Not to rub it in but this year I get 26 days plus, the 8 bank holiday (Xmas, Boxing day, New year etc). Plus we are allowed to buy an additional 3 days if we like which works out cheaper than a day's pay. If I'm off sick, it just goes down as sickness and I get 3 months a year full pay sick leave (although that's obviously for a serious illness) and then 3 months half pay sick leave.
They'd got the sound levels wrong and vocals were to low so I was telling them but I suppose I was going on a bit, after every song I could maybe have also been a bit more polite looking back but the singer was rude to me first Singer singled me out and I got beer lobbed at us which one of my mates returned the favour and lobbed back but I got kicked out
****in' yob. Vocals levels are one of the main problems in gigs in my experience. Always surprises me because some of the bigger ones have real state-of the-art gear, and a sound desk in the right place.
Yeah ive been to big gigs and 9 times out of 10 sound levels are good Festivals can be bad if its windy as that blows the sounds around! Last night was a relatively small do, 200 spectators. Getting the sound can be hard though I know from doing gigs Singer shouldnt have singled me out though cowardly ****, the whole crowd turned on me Singer could hear me as I was right at the front
No actually, Im usually very polite All I was saying is the singing needed to be turned up, which it did Singer insulted me so I insulted him back and his ego couldnt take it
