Ptc you don't get to win two promotions with two different teams as champions by being completely negative! I agree that a balance needs to be struck but no one can seriously complain about the progress we have made in just over one season with Mick in charge! Jeez some on here we're delighted with Jewell and his progressive play even when we were getting stuffed every week! The ship has been steadied and it's now up to ME to invest some money into the team.

I would think that Taylor already knew that he was an understudy as i'm sure that the starting line up will be chosen days before the match with players being told so they can work on TicTacs and stuff, i presume Taylor came in for the new loany after he picked up a knock.

I always find TWTD very hard work, It is full of morons who only seem happy when they are taking the piss or trying to put you down if you don't agree with their POV, rather than having a reasonable debate as to why they may differ from your view, threads often stray off topic & can end up being slanging matches.!

Been on it a number of times giving a view on this, that or the other, giving facts etc to back up my view....what a waste of time that is.!

Taylor was not a Mick purchase and he obviously doesn't rate him as is his want! He works with this group of players everyday whereas we do not so we are only guessing as to why Mick doesn't fancy him. All I will say is that I'd rather trust Micks vast amount of knowledge and experience in football than I would any casual armchair observers!

I just don't see why mick is getting slated so much as is he is when he is doing a pretty amazing job! I don't remember the other clowns getting quite as much stick when they were half way through their first full season and we were a lot further down the table than we are now!

I'm not saying he isn't a good manager, he is but even you who loves the guy can surely get frustrated by his cautious approach and favouring working hard majorly over skill. It's about balance and as I said I think he could've acheived more at the teams he has been at if he wasn't so stubborn in his approach. Are you telling me you'd pick Nouble over Taylor?

All Managers do to some extent......Mick does appear to set out to keep a clean sheet first and foremost so if we can score one will have a good chance of winning the game, nothing wrong with that imo not the most pleasing way to pick up points but it is effective when deployed properly as i've said before i think now that we are a solid unit next season Mick will try to introduce a little more Guile and style.

True but it's about managers perspectives, different managers rate different players and just because you're an armchair casual observer doesn't mean you're wrong. I mean Roy Keane worked with Townsend every day but didn't seem to rate him and sent him back. AVB clearly didn't rate Adebayor does that mean he's a bad manager? I mean do you rate Taylor over say Murphy and Nouble?? Who would you prefer at RB Hewitt or Chambers?

You can't just implicitly trust a manager everyone has an opinion. I really rated Burley and I liked when Magilton was here but I often disagreed with their team selections as you do with all managers.

    There are only two things that I get annoyed about;
    1. formation, I don't know why we have not tried 3 at the back at some point this season, players at our disposal does point to this potentially being our strongest suite
    2. Tabb & Nouble continually getting picked, Tabb is poor, I struggle to see any reason why he gets selected this often, Nouble runs around a lot & that is about it, He did finally have a half decent game yesterday though, he just never looks like he is going to score unless it is handed to him on a plate.!

I do have full confidence in MM, you are allowed to question him if you think he has missed something, Warky I am sure he has wound you up at least once.?

All managers have blind spots, like everyone and JWM appears to have one when it comes to criticism of big Mick, perhaps we should try to arrange for them to have a meet up although Valentines day was last month <rose>

My biggest frustration is when managers don't go out and try to take the game to the opposition which is I geuss why I get frustrated with Mick so much. I like my team no matter who we are facing to try and impose our game on them, that's why I got frustrated with Jim at the end. He started out putting his best team in our most suitable formation to try and take the game to the opposition no matter who they were, once ME came in he tried to set his teams up to stop the opposition from playing first and foremost and that annoyed me!!

That's the point of these forums even if we rate a manager we can have an opinion otherwise as I've said before what's the point of having this forum????

I don't agree with every single decision he makes but to be honest he gets far more right than he does wrong! No one can argue that progress hasn't been made in the time he has been, here but unfortunately it will take time to build a truly decent squad that can make a realistic promotion challenge.

All I am saying is that Mick has earned the right to be given time and I am sick to death of the petty whinging and moaning. It could be justified if we were losing every week but the fact is we are in the top ten and pushing for a top six place! If someone had offered me this at the start of this season that this is where we would be in March, I would have ripped their bloody arm off!

Completely agree.. I made a comment some time back only for two or three of the 'regulars' take exception to it and then take great pleasure in trawling a few websites to try to prove me to be incorrect..

Also, the forum is bloody dreadful, hard to understand and with ridiculous posts.. So many self important pillocks who spend their days making premonitions like "Cresswell will be sold for 3-6million" etc. and that will be all that they put in their post..

It's also painfully obvious a lot of them own some sort of faulty crystal ball and have nothing better than to spout nearly everything that comes into their head..

Likewise I get rather irritated with the constant stick McCarthy is getting from our fans.

If taking over a club bottom of the table, getting rid of a bucket load of loanees, sorting out the defence no ends, and not being backed very much compared with other clubs in the division ( Rhodes £40,000 a week, Forrest spending £5 mill on two players I think ), and getting us from BOTTOM of the league to 9th isn't worth getting behind a manager, frankly I don't know what is.

Last season, correct me if I'm wrong, but from when we had McCarthy we'd have been 5th or 6th in the table based on them results.

We're doing very well thank you this season, and frankly I'm enjoying going into the final quarter with a chance of the play offs. Granted, it's a slim one, however four points is more than doable. We haven't been in this position since 08/09 so I for one am going to enjoy this.

That's not to say I agree with everything Mick does. I'm not hugely amused with his handling of Taylor, admitting a loanee would have started ahead of him for one.

However, give me these sort of limitations ANY DAY over the past two managers.

Ideally, I'd love us to play like Barcelona etc. But whats more important? Our style of play under Jewell at times was superb. Where did that get us? Ultimately to bottom of the league, over £7 million spent on transfer fees and a squad full of loanees with a defence as strong as my 95 year old nan.

Mick has my full backing. I put in another article I think he's around the 35th longest serving manager. I love the fact we give managers time, and have a funny feeling if we back Mick somewhat in the summer, we could start to see quite attractive football with some decent width play next season. Rome wasn't built in a day, and I think we're building nicely. So long as a manager is making obvious progress, then I will support frankly anyone incharge.

That I do - Manage to watch all the goals. Saw a stream of the QPR match, so much like Leeds first half I thought we were very good!

Infact, when you add my visit to the Madejski this season, I have watched three games and witnessed three losses. MICK OUT!
