Let's face it,things are looking much better, Goons in crisis ahead of the NLD, all we need to do is win an almost unbelievably winnable game to put ourselves in surprisingly good shape...why do I not find this at all reassuring?

I think it was the whole week that killed us. Didn't we throw away a 2-1 lead at anfield the previous week. Then inter milan took us to extra time the thursday before the fulham game even though we had a 3-0 lead from the first leg!

And then a draw against Everton.
The margin for failure may not have been as wide as Arry could allow himself the season before (and
still blew it) , but it was there nonetheless and Spurs blew it.

The way this season is going, the margin will be even finer for the CL slot contenders.

  5. I'm with you on this, RWAB. If we beat Cardiff, we've got to be hopeful about getting top 4, given that Arsenal is in free-fall and still have to play us.

Dreams are there to tantalize us and to enrich our mundane lives, so let's dream.

We'll prob need to win at either chelsea or liverpool as well as the home game against the goons to stand any chance, assuming we win today of course

It will be a must win game for one or both, regardless of the PL results prior to then.

Infact city look in free fall too. Who's up for finishing third. What a difference a week makes.

So many "six pointers" happening between the top 7 during March.
Spurs will even be well out of it by Apr 1st, or somehow still within range.

City do have two games in hand don't forget, they can go level with Chelsea if they win them.

  11. If £ity lose today (in the League Cup Final), I can see them setting themselves up to spank teams even harder in the EPL. Complacency has been their greatest weakness, even before Mancini, and a loss to Sunderland in the Cup will snap them out of it for a few more games.

  13. I take it that Lennon will be playing on the left?

Wise words. I sometimes forget that and think that dreams are there to torture us by dancing out of reach at the crucial moment.

How can Eriksen have a back problem? He's effing twenty...

Well, given the injuries, I'm not sure what else we could do. For a game against a weak team, I might take Bentaleb over Dembele, believe it or not. And also believe it or not, I might take Chadli over Townsend.

We've still got a lot of injuries, haven't we?

Not sure about the line up. The way Lennon's playing he doesn't deserve to be starting and Chadli's been good lately. Paulinho and Dembele in midfield has always been a bit suspect and Soldado's just not giving us anything.

Why are we picking up so many bloody injuries all the time? It's bordering on the ridiculous.

Got to disagree re: Soldado. He might not be scoring but he takes a defender away from Adebayor; his link up play is good and he will score!

Surely the main talking point is Bentaleb not starting?

    I know right?

His inclusion since Sherwood has taken over has verged on the ridiculous. He's a poor mans Jake Livermore.
