I genuinely don't know how they compile these stats. I started counting from the moment he came on the pitch I can tell you on his first 3 touches (maybe 4 I should have written it down!) he gave the ball away. After that he was never in the right position to anything I really don't know what position he was playing in. Admittedly by then we were in disarray all over the pitch so it wasn't just him.
You count passes? What ever happened to just trying to enjoy a game. Do you count just Wanayama's passes or everyones? If just Wanyama's then you are taking your obsession in not rating him a little too far.
I didn't pay that much attention, but I certainly know he was rubbish, and to be honest, a bit dirty.
Yeah, I decided before the match that he was going to be rubbish as I don't like him, and then despite not paying much attention I decided to stick with my clouded view despite there being evidence to the contrary.
He comes on, foul, foul, yellow, gives ball away... Im not sure what this evidence is you talk off. We still lost, he certainly didn't change the match for the better.
I don't normally do it but I was actually checking to see whether or not I was being harsh in my criticism of him. So many people seem to like him so I thought maybe, as people have suggested, the people who don't like him have a prejudice against him (not racial!) and don't give him enough credit for what he actually does. So, I actually did it for the opposite of the reasons suggested. However, I'm afraid that I was right and he was poor. Maybe its down to the fact that he isn't fully fit yet, I don't know.
Yesterday, other players such as Shaw lost the ball more than normal. Not sure whether Liverpool closed them down faster than usual or whether our first touch was worse. One bad first touch and the ball was gone.
Shaw was crap yesterday! The lad isn't a great crosser. Edit: too harsh, he made some decent tackles.
Their pressing game was excellent yesterday which definitely forced us into more mistakes than usual.
I'm sure some people do have a racial prejudice against him, but not you - I just think you have a possibly romantic infatuation with Cork, can't see past the Cork/Wanyama debate, and as such go for both extremes - acting as if Cork is incredible, and Wanyama is terrible. That said, you weren't "right" because arguments can easily be made saying he wasn't poor. You just confirmed your own bias, which isn't exactly an objective action.
