Amongst all the spectacularly weird negativity, here's a positive one -

A very happy birthday to Mauricio Pochettino. In my opinion the best manager we've had in charge for many, many a year.

Well bless his little Piscean heart. Happy Birthday Mauricio. Probably the best since Lawrie Mac, certainly since WGS.

I don't see much genuine negativity, just a kind of bleak indifference. After the highs and lows of the last ten years or so, we have plateaued, for now, and nobody is quite sure how to process that.

    Happy Birthday Manager.

15th when he took over, 9th now. Saints now a secure top half side.

    ****, didn't do a graph.

I'd really agree with this, if altered to "after the highs and highs of the last 5 years..."

People just got used to expecting success.

That success needs the context of the previous failures though. We were used to that before. One things for sure though, we're not used to mid-table mediocrity anymore.

    Happy birthday MP.

Massively hope he stays in the summer, if only for the stability. I think it's clear for anyone who understands football what he brings to us as a club. Anyone that thinks him leaving would be OK is kidding themselves

For stability's sake we need a contract extension signed. Otherwise it's the Strachan lame duck syndrome.

He's a very good manager. I hope he continues to improve for us and work on some of his own weaknesses, such as making changes in games to reflect changing circumstances.

Like bringing on Ramirez for more of an attacking threat when losing, replacing a tiring Lambert, and bringing on Wanyama to strengthen our midfield?

If he leaves it will be fine. We can get a good English coach in who understands that the fans just want to see some passion, blood, sweat and tears from the players. More fighting on the terraces wouldn't go amiss either.

In fact, if we get lucky, MP will leave just as Big fat Sam gets sacked from West Ham and we can appoint him with Twitchy as Director of Deals. Yeah, we'd be proud of our tema then and we'd only sign players who really want it.

    COME ON! HAVE IT!

No need to be silly fatletiss. This is important stuff. Critical, even.

I'm sorry. I just can't handle this second season, mid table obscurity stuff. We should have done these two seasons the other way round; stay up comfortably first and then regress to a relegation battle.
