I know Mauricio can't be held responsible for individual errors (in defence or attack), but something is going wrong in the team as a whole. They still look good and create masses of chances, but it doesn't go our way. Are they jaded, unsettled? That is the managers responsibility to sort out, starting after the international break. Perhaps they will come back buoyed up from that.
He completed 8 out of the 10 passes he attempted, and one of the incomplete ones led directly to a corner for us, the yellow card was pretty harsh I thought, and besides, he was only on the pitch for the last 13 minutes, when the game was effectively over; what exactly were you expecting from him?
Careful, you'll be castigated for using stats soon, rather than a clouded version of what you think you saw......!
I think a lot of the negativity will come from his awful first touch, where the first thing he did was give it away and commit a foul. That'll give the people who are always happily swayed against Wanyama confirmation in their heads that he was terrible, regardless of whatever he did after that.
The corner only came because Flannegan panicked and kicked it out! Nothing to do with the quality (or lack) of Wanyama's pass.
It was a probing ball, and we had a player pressurising Flanagan. Admittedly he was unlikely to get to it, but it's still putting their defence under pressure, which we singularly failed to do for almost the entirety of the rest of the second half.
From now on, can we make it a forum rule that all opinions have to be backed up with a full statistical analysis, with charts, a powerpoint display and the permission of Le Tissier's Laces as forum "overlord". It is not allowed for someone to state their own opinion based upon what they see with their eyes. That is heresy.
Coming from the man that stated that anyone disagreeing with his opinion "knows **** all about football"..... Bit lost on you all this, isn't it?
Not at all, it's you who clearly cares more about "being right" than I do. You can be the internet champ for today. I'll get your crown.
You can say whatever you like, but not all of us operate on blind faith. If you don't bring any evidence to the table, and you're obviously wrong, then don't be shocked when somebody tells you so.
If you want people to treat your opinion as more than narrow-minded prejudiced rubbish, then trying to actually justify it might help.
Exactly. Using evidence to back up an opinion that you formed on the basis of being in a live situation is by all accounts 'lily-livered'. It really is beyond pathetic.
I don't care how people treat my opinion. Thankfully my life isn't based upon how many "likes" I get on the internet. Ironic too, that the prejudice against my comments appears to be ok. Appears that quite often, people don't even read what I've actually said before berating me. How narrow minded is that?
I can do what I want, plus I almost feel obliged to interject & give a different opinion in the face of what I see, is often fawning praise when it isn't deserved. That again, is my opinion, and I admit, my weakness to not "let it go". I have a choice to say what I want. You have a choice to not even bother reading it.
