    Lol true.

If we beat Spurs, that should pretty much cement a top 4 place IMO.

I agree that he let it happen, he could probably have hurdled the defender's leg if he really wanted to. But I honestly think he's being denied more genuine pens than he's being given soft ones, at the moment. This all just brings us back to the standard of refereeing argument.
As for your last point, where've you been for the last thirty odd years, Diego? "Sporting" got deleted from footballers' lexicons a long time ago.

It looks like Chelsea's to me tbh.
But, never give up hope- I'm just ecstatic that we're so involved in it at this stage.

If Surez had hurdled the defenders leg then his angle on goal would have been widened given the goalkeeper and unfair advantage in being able to reach any resulting shot. Therefore you either give the foul for the tackle or you give the foul for illegal obstruction either way it was a foul in the penalty area,

More importantly than that did anybody notice that at the end of the handshakes before the match, the Ref tried to say something directly to Suarez? Wonder what that was all about?

    I agree.

I think we should definitely be looking at 3rd spot now and getting automatic qual to CL.

    hmm maybe,

both clubs are not great away from home so always a chance of dropped points, IF city win their games in hand they are level on points so if need be hope we can stuff chelsea when they come here.

for us to win the title we would have to win all our remaining games, can we, well who knows, but doubtful sadly.

3rd is looking more a possibility than it did, but be chuffed with cl football of any kind ie qualifier or automatic.

We also have to play both Chelsea and City at Anfield. If we can still be within 4 points of City and Chelsea by those games, then it could be very tasty ...

Win at manure.. (Poss our hardest away fixture remaining) and then we can start to really dream.
However, with home games against spurs (who play Chelsea next) city and Chelsea it should really be in our own hands.

In fact looking at spurs and arsenals next four games then we scold be in a really strong position

    Spurs

    Chelsea (a)
    Arsenal,(h)
    Saints (h)
    Liverpool (a)

    Arsenal
    Spurs (a)
    Chelsea (a)
    City (h)
    Everton (a)

Lots of points to be dropped there!

    Wild prediction time:

If we beat Chelsea AND City at home we will win. If we don't we won't.

/ don't expect to win both at home... although would expect to win one.

well if we win 10 we will be worst case one point behind. There has to be a case where you expect chelsea to drop a couple more points around the CL

I think kph is right that our sole rivals for 4th will have serious games coming. they have is as hard as us.

I just think we should look at the utd game as a barometer... if they don't get all the decisions, if we look like the top 4 team not them and if we hammer them... well it'll not be as impressive as winning away to Southampton <laugh>

I would be disappointed if we don't win at Old Trafford. I know that tactics, form etc goes out the window but I do think we can smash them.

jut like magic smashes gerrez's back door in every night ;)

    anything could happen.

we turned in a good result away this week and in the end another day it could have been bad. We just have to hope for a really inspired performance as an away day at old trafford would suggest.

its actually not too bad seeing the international will be over well beofre so we've oodles of time to get everyone back and focused.

Gerrard will love a big win i reckon

Like I said yesterday, there are plenty of points to be dropped by all the title contenders:

    Chelsea v Tottenham 08-Mar
    Tottenham v Arsenal 15-Mar
    Chelsea v Arsenal 22-Mar
Man Utd v Man City 25-Mar
    Arsenal v Man City 29-Mar
    Everton v Arsenal 05-Apr
    Everton v Man Utd 19-Apr
    Everton v Man City 03-May

These fixtures could all well have a HUGE bearing on who wins the title, well, apart from Everton v Man Utd

    Ours:

    Man Utd v Liverpool 16-Mar
    Liverpool v Tottenham 29-Mar
    Liverpool v Man City 12-Apr
    Liverpool v Chelsea 26-Apr
