lol know what you mean but can be deceiving due to pressure when watching live games. get a better idea when watching replay of the match tomorrow.

He punched two today. First was a high spinning ball, good chance that the GK could drop the ball and of course would drop to a Soton player. Second one (in the 2nd half) he had players under him, again with a high ball there is always the chance it could slip through.

Think the two punches he made today were for the best, got the distance on them and made sure Soton players didn't get a melee goal.

Yeah, didn't mind that. It's when they punch under no pressure it annoys me but thought Mig did well.

Still can't kick for **** but I've come to expect that from him now so doesn't annoy me as much.

  6. We knew he preferred to punch rather than catch when we signed him.

What I find frustrating is when people claimed he's flapped when he's actually pushed it clear.

  7. He is what he is. He's not great at kicking but I think he does very well considering.

Yeah I've said before I don't mind as he can and does produve top quality saves like the one at the end of the 1st half which kept us at 1-0.

Allen was instrumental as we cannot play stretched without an extra CM like him (or Lucas) winning and moving the ball.

The alternative is to stay coiled back, press manically and counterattack with SASAS & Couts. Which is a perfectly fine gameplan, if we totally commit to it physically. Effective against adventurous sides like vs Arse and bitters, but we haven't been able to adapt/tweak it for the road.

Allen made 3 tackles 2 interceptions.

Hendo made 7 tackles(!) and 1 interception.

Gerrard 5 tackles and 2 interceptions.

Coutinho 2 tackles 1 interception before coming off.

Funny, I thought his work rate was good but he got knocked off the ball to easily and gave it away a lot, but hey we won and I'm happy.

I thought Allen was ok, not his worst game, but not his best. Same for all of our midfield really - that was the area in which Southampton really excelled. Passing from all three (and Coutinho too) was sloppy and defensively, positioning was poor from them.

But we've played better and lost, so not complaining

If we win the league I'll buy a chihuahua, **** it I'll buy every one of you a chihuahua. Then we can train them to fight and watch them maim each other. Not really, we'll start a chihuahua cafe and snuggle with them under cosy chihuahua blankets.
