Errrrr... >>>>>1. Long >>>>>>>>>> 2. Davies >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 3. ANO We need Brady back asap (if possible) for some width. If we stay up a new left full back is a must(Where is Joe Dudgeon?) plus a midfielder with pace. For all his attributes Meyler is too slow and Koren is treading through treacle at this level.
Macc thought he could have done better with their third goal and a weak punch when he should have caught it. elmo ok. No need to put Aluko on the right, ****ed up Elmo's game. Davies never seen him beaten in the air so much. Bruce hesitant needed that header to go in. Figgy wasnt as bad as some make out though the back pass was a shocker. Rosy, bad bad game for him. Sossoko was a ****ing monster though. But letting the ball under his foot summed up his game today. Livermore shocker from him, worst game he's ever played. Hudd battled really well i thought. Meyler tried hard but we were dominated in midfield. Should have just twatted Pardew. **** the consequences, if ever a face had punch appeal it is Pardews. Long and Jelly battled well but i thought Longs head went down second hale Jellys didnt. Plus Long threw himself to the floor, get up you tart your not French like those Newcastle ****s. Koren did well great shot. not sure putting him left mid helped us tho. Aluko. Didnt get it at all. Spent most of his time as RB or DM. did nowt With that in mind Davies Elmo Hudd
Davies - Got us back in the game but had his hands full all afternoon with Newcastle's attack Jelavic - Unlucky with free kick that hit the bar and maybe should have hit the target with 1st half header - his booking was ridiculous - where is he supposed to put his hands? Elmo - Had to score with clear 1st half headed chance That said probably our most mistake ridden home game all season. We gifted them 2 goals and couldn't string 3 passes together. Hopefully just a one off and we will see a big improvement in the next 3 home games.
I don't think we actually made that many mistakes, we just got punished every time. We had 4 free kicks in good positions, scored from one, hit the bar and conceded from the other two!
thought we did ok for 8 against 11 - Figgy, Meyler and Bruce were that ****e they may have well sat on the bench and let the rest of them get on with it - **** only knows why Bruce was ahead of Chester - is Dudgeon still injured as hes much better than Figgy and why is Meyler ahead of Quinn or in fact anybody
How very dare you. A full back needs strength, courage, skill, good looks and a certain debonair charm; I know, I was one.
Don't get all the constant Meyler bashing, he's a good player, and today did little wrong, at least no more than anyone else did anyway. If you're going to pick on anyone from the midfield today it would be Livermore, worst player on the pitch in fact. But it's not popular to criticise him so just keep on bashing Meyler.
meyler is slow, doesn't tackle, unless someone passes him then he trips them up, he wanders aimlessly in the middle not marking anyone and constantly gives the ball away unless he does his trade mark pass backwards and puts the defender under pressure and constantly falling over - wasn't good enough last season in the championship, certainly not good enough this season - definitely in the Bruce, Figgy, Meyler pigeon hole - ie Bruce bought them so he picks them as opposed to the Hobbs, Cairney, pigeon hole - ie better than the previous pigeon hole but Bruce didn't buy them so they don't get picked and get sold
Every week I become more convinced that people who need someone to blame just pick Meyler out of convenience. He isn't a big name player so it won't really be challenged. People can't accept we lost because Newcastle played well and need to find someone to call 'woeful'. Meyler is the easy target every time yet there's never a specific incident or reason.
Agree PLT, most evenings after a match I pop on the MOM thread and find myself bemused at some clown shoes hammering Meyler for no reason when he hasn't even played badly.
Davies Long Elmo Just had a bad day all around where not too many things broke our way. Hopefully this is the players wake up call to realize that it's not over yet and there is still much more work to be done.
Long Davies Elmo Meyler just missed out on third. And yes, it's time for Figgy to have a "rest" - we can bring Chester in and move Davies to the left of the 3 if we stick with that formation. I wish Dudgeon were fit.
Couldn't have put this any better myself lads. Meylers an important player for us, and he had a better game than most yesterday. Huddlestone made a big effort, and Koren nearly turned the game around for us. Livermore was shocking and i think some people only see what they want to see. Don't get me wrong here Jakes a top player, he just had a really bad day. 1/ Huddlestone 2/ Koren 3/Elmo....although i'm worried were going to burn this lad out !
