We need a poacher badly. A defoe type.

What?! Show me! This is all I have been saying since Christmas. I'm boring myself with it.

Sorry though, if thats the impression you get, it's hard to keep up with everyone.

Basically, in sum, I think our team is amazing, but we need several seasons more to become the finished product. However, we do need to replace our striker.

Also said "If teams want to play 2 v 2 against Suarez and Sturridge, all the best."

Difficult to really argue with that.

Luke will feel great about that prior to meeting up with the squad.

I love all our players, but I think we are two thirds of a great side.

Likewise! I've been the biggest exponent of "Lambert's gone" on here, at risk to life and limb. I said that you can't 'learn' finishing, yet you told me I was talking bollocks.

How much *have* you had to drink!? :)

Well that is a somewhat harsh scoreline on Saints. First half we were excellent and should have gone in at HT at least level. Liverpool had a fair share of luck for the Suarez goal, it was fortunate that the ball came off Fonte into the path of Suarez. Second half Rodgers got his tactic spot on. Man-marked Lallana out of the game and we were nowhere near as effective. Lallana was outstanding first half - Liverpool gave him too much space.

I'm really sorry about my "bollocks". It was just one of those games.

Anyhow, said it on the Rumour page, but....

    Dear Mr Moyes.....

    £15m + Hernandez for Shaw.....

    Discuss.....

We could do with a decent striker. It's a shame the Osvaldo investment didnt work out.

    And talking of poor investments...

Does anyone still think Wanyama's a good player?

Saints are very good at being very good in games... but getting beat.

Although, I guess being good & not creating enough chances, not taking those chances when they finally come... and then making defensively mistakes, isn't everyone's definition of "GOOD".

    Oh hum.

My gut feeling of a very flat end to this season, remains.

It may well end up being a bit flat, but we've had a good season - built for the future, found a style that with slightly better (and more experienced, but that will come) players, will serve us very well going forward. We shouldn't feel disgruntled at all. As I mentioned, in my opinion our play is better than our players right now, and that's why we're not converting just yet. That can be solved with some smart purchases in the summer.

Yeah, it's his first game back so you can let him off for being a bit crap. Lovren was worse!

He wasn't even crap. He was brought on to provide some physical snap in the midfield, to try and shake Liverpool off their stride at that point as they pretty much had control at that moment. He tried to do that but it didn't quite work. He didn't do anything wrong though (in my view).

Same old story, 85% of our play is good, but we have no cutting edge. Liverpool have a great attack, and I expected them to score, but we should have taken those chances today. Cannot finish a bag of crisps at the moment, and are in need of some new attacking personnel - preferably one who can put the ball in the net. Another harsh lesson today, but one will keep on getting if we don't take our chances.
