    Yeah nothing wrong with Aspas.

£7 mill + Shaw should get you Aspas no problem <ok>

  2. With the amount of cash you could get for Shaw, I suppose that makes sense. Man City and ourselves have shown what a good attack can do with a decent defence.

I'd love us to sign Shaw from you guys but suspect you'll want £20m+

I'm a fan of Allen but he was poor today, you seem to praise him for the sake of it?

  4. I thought Allen had one of his best games for us <laugh>

Poor in the first half, but then the whole midfield was.

In the 2nd half I thought he and everyone else stepped up and were much better.

More like an outstanding attack with a dodgy defence <ok>

Why can't we get Shaw next year?

    Cough up Henry.

If we're going to spend £20m on a player for next year I'd rather it was on a CM.

We can get buy with Flanagan/Johnson/Enrique covering LB if needed.

I agree with your first part, but I think we still need a LB.

Yup, think we need one but if we could only buy 1 player for 1 position CM would be my first choice.

Think you could easily get a LB who is an improvement on our current options (although I do rate Enrique very highly) for much less than £20m. If Shaw wasn't English then he'd be half that value.

  12. This. Get Enrique fit and concentrate on the midfield and RB

  13. I do too but, as much as I'd love Shaw, not a £20m LB

Yup. We need a quality DM to stop teams running right through us which happens from time to time.

I just hope we buy quality. I'd rather we bought established for 20 mill than 4 **** players for 7 mill which is an LFC trend of the past 10 years.

  15. With Suarez, Studge, Sterling and Coutinho, I'd prefer two out-and-out DMs <laugh>

This season so far Suarez and Sturridge combined have scored just one less goal than the whole Man Utd team put together! <laugh>

  17. TBF, there's no wonder they've not scored many if they've all be joined together :bandit:

I agree. Left back is very important.

I'm concerned about Enrique's fitness. Johnson's is not great either. Flanagan has been great but he is young and we cannot put high pressure on him. Martin Kelly? Who knows.

    My priorties would go:

    CM
    LB
    CB
    WF
    GK

    The pattern continued.

I watched live- and we won. We almost never lose when I watch the game live... I can't remember last time I watched a game live- and we didn't get three points. It's only when I have to tape a game that we falter.

Not looked back over the entire thread but:
Good win. I said before game- of the last 12, this is one we would be most likely to lose. Certainly was our most difficult away game left... and We WON! YEAH! Still not out of the danger zone- have a few comparatively easier games now before we get some challenges at home. Hopefully can build on points tally and put pressure on others before the real challenges begin. Man Utd won't be a pushover- but I'm more confident of three points at Old Trafford than in Southampton.

Saw couple posts up a discussion on Allen. I thought he did quite well today. Gave the ball away a few times- but his long balls were near spot-on perfect. Made mistakes, but showed some class too. Probably one of our weaker players- but most people did quite well today.

0-3 flatters us. We were the better team- but not by three goals. Soton should feel hard-done by that we got a 3 goal margain. They were perhaps unlucky not to get at least one past us. Swap Shaw for Aspas in the summer... I'd be happy. We may be cheeky and throw in Cissoko and Moses too... even though we don't own them.

Disappointed to see Sturridge in a goal drought... oh well... he'll be back next game (one game without scoring is a drought for him).

Mignolet made a couple of good saves- but why does he so often punch the ball when catching it would be easier?
