Look at all these Liverpool fans! Easy to be magnanimous when you win 3-0 isn't it? Would like to see them win the league now to be fair, they've got some tricky games they need to win yet though. United away, Spurs, City and Chelsea at home. Think it's going to be too much to be honest.
Want either Arsenal or Liverpool to win the league...looks like the Gunners are dropping away now, so come on 'Pool.
Not implying anything, it's a straightforward statement. "Liverpool are ahead" - statement of fact, "and sitting back now", which they are able to do because they are ahead. I don't know where you're getting this idea from that I said they were sitting back as soon as they scored, or that being ahead means they must be sitting back.
Hard to be disappointed about that. We were beaten by a better team. That said, Sweet Zombie Jesus, we need somebody who can finish.
Absolutely And yeah we are very much outsiders, but I'm enjoying things for sure. I read a lot of negative stuff on here which isn't needed. You're still having a very good season - look where you were 2-3 years ago. Still think you mucked up not going for the cup though.
The problem isn't losing today (playing well against a good side), but the points we have lost against lower sides. We are 9th and are truly better than those beneath us...so why aren't we bagging those points? Need a real finisher.
Like I said in the other thread. Don't rate Liverpool or Rodgers. Like I also said, without Suarez they would be 10+ points worse off. Our problem is very very clear. We are miles better than Liverpool but cannot score goals. If we had a Suarez then we would be doing better than Liverpool are at the moment but we haven't. Oh well. Not a lot can be done till Summer but it is becoming clear that we will be (or need to be) replacing Rickie and Davis in the summer for a better goal threat. Rickie and Davis are decent enough back up though. Disappointed with today because they were very poor and just finished their chances.
We aren't miles better than Liverpool in any way, shape or form. Suarez makes a massive difference, absolutely; so too does Sturridge. But if the argument is that we'd be better than them if we had the best strike pairing in the league, that's miles away from actually being better than them.
Okay, so I'm assuming you are saying that Liverpool decided to sit back only in the second half then, around 55 minutes. I can see that. But you'd think, if they were sitting deeper, surely Chambers may be even more inclined to attack. That is, if only he had someone to cover him...
Oh for goodness sake Black, you're being so contradictory today! That's what I was saying, which you were disagreeing with.......
They took away the space down the flanks, though. We were getting those opportunities in the first half because we were moving the ball very quickly against a team that was pressing up the pitch. When they ceased pressing up (because they no longer needed to do so), those gaps ceased to be.
Eeeeeexactly......as I said, this isn't about 'learning from mistakes' it's about buying someone who can stick it in the net. Oh for Dani to have worked.....
But we do though. Crazy logic. There was a stat recently that from our last 20 odd goals scored he only had 1. We're certainly not a one man team.
You can't be second in the league without a good side...the truth is that goalscorers make all the difference. Just as an ace keeper can make the difference. It's within the rules.
