Thats true hans, but didn't he ask for a proper release clause to be put in this time, hes no different from Bale or Modric who signed a contract a year before they left us, but with us failing to get CL footy, they left, although like Suarez they wanted bigger things anyway.
So just saw Wenger's interview - his main beef being that players were too 'selfish' when we had opportunities and shooting instead of passing. So despite creating next to nothing, with no passion, no pace, shirking big tackles, not standing upto the pressing/niggling fouls/crowd, his main issue is that Cazorla didnt slip it through to Podolksi on one chance in first half. Bit worrying that . . . .
We had no attacking impetus. We deserved nothing and we got precisely that . When i saw Wilshire/Arteta/Giroud i knew it was going to be another dissapointment . Gnabbers /Oxo/ Podolski is a THREAT . If you have no threat , you will not win . Peter Crouch makes Giroud look amateur. No more needs to be said. 4th by tomorow .? How many times before we get to keep the 4th place trophy ? We went there set up not to lose , always a recipe for failure. Arsene Wenger always talks about that which he does himself not possess. a winning mentality .
No we didn't. Rosicky, Podolski, Cazorla, Giroud, Wilshere are all attack minded. If we were set up not to lose we'd have played Arteta and Flamini in the middle.
Wenger doesn't see the "issues" that you fans see. what you want is for the players to show passion and fighting spirit, especially in the month of March where your usual collapse happens, all wengers sees, is your quality slipping but he doesn't understand its the other qualities which are needed to fight for a result, especially away to Stoke.
what i mean is that those players are set up to play one way . The sideways passing , patient look for a mistake and strike , way . Wheres the plan B for teams that dont let you do that ? Some people who will RUN into spaces , Gnabbers hasnt been brainwashed into passing for the sake of it ................yet . Give it a season though, and really .....my gran poses more of a threat to a defence than Giroud. and shes dead Does anyone know how many shots we had on target today ?
Arsene " our players were too selfish " genius . THATS why we didnt score against Stoke , they were too selfish . Didnt pass quite enough eh ? i get it. god help us.
You see Arsenal? If you start strong like Liverpool and get a goal, you give yourself an excellent chance of winning, sure Southampton put some pressure on Pool, but having that first goal is such a huge bonus. But we've been saying this for how long?
Sorry but I have to say Liverpool have not had to deal with the fixture congestion any of the other top sides have faced this season. Easy to start every game like a house on fire when that is the only fixture to look forward to in a week. I am not putting Arsenal's problems solely down to fixture congestion but our squad is not big enough to compete in all the competitions we face. Wenger knew this and is accountable for not strengthening in the J transfer window when it was clear we needed some backup for our injured and tired players particularly in the striking department.
We had as much rest time as Liverpool this week, we had 7 days off until today, so no excuses of being tired. Before we got thrashed by Pool, we also had a week off.
