We've only won 3 on the trot twice all season, the first 3 games and then 4 games just before the City and Chelsea defeats at Christmas. With Swansea at home, Southampton away and Sunderland at home it's a great chance to go one further and win 5 on the bounce and put in a really good position going into the last 1/4 of the season especially when Spurs have 2 EL games to play in that spell and then go into a tricky set of fixtures with Chelsea, Arsenal & us.

thinking on it in 2006 we won ten in a row with clean sheets yeah? still won the fa cup and got cl but no where near title. It just shows how the top clubs have not delivered consistency either.

if we win the next few for sure it's big.

9 points from this block so far with the Southampton game to go Could be our first perfect block of the season with a win. We're already +1 for this block so in theory anything from this will be a bonus, although if e do draw it certainly won't feel like that.

A draw would be disappointing but would at least keep the unbeaten run going

In the end we've now got a gap to 5th and now Everton are close to out of it, we should be looking at arsenal to get 3rd and just going for the win. 6 point one way and 4 the other suggests good things but in reality we've got to match spurs over nine more games..... They at least we're affected by Europa/ just played bad

But we are very lucky to have 3 points from that game

    Yes......but.
Somehow yesterday I was always confident we were going to get another goal -at 2-2 and at 3-3. I imagine this is because we are so prolific at the moment, but up until this season I wouldn't have had that confidence. The same with the Fulham game, I just wouldn't expect us to be able to get back into it once we went behind.
Obviously it would be better for our collective blood pressure to stop letting in so many bloody goals, but the fact that we are now so frequently able to get that winning goal when necessary bodes well for the future, I hope.

but we you confident at all we'd hold the lead?

I mean i said on this thread before the game that boney and shelvey had good digs on them. so it proved.

we are able to get a goal but in the end we are as likely to wake up one monring after a 4-1 thumping wondering why as keep going and going with high scoring wins.

the main thing is to not lose to utd and spurs as of today.. how we fix the defence is something i think is a difficult ask.

we can beat southampton but we can equally have a bad game. this is inconsistency personified.

    No.
But I look at how far we've come and I'm happy with the progress we've made under BR.
Anyone expecting us to be the finished article, with few weaknesses, after 18 months is, imo, being unrealistic.

Our first perfect block and what a way to finish it.

In theory, got a bonus 4 points from this block easing the pressure on the next one. I'm still looking at top 4 at the moment, and if we're still in with a shout of the title with 5 games to go when we scrap this 2 points a game and go for 3 <ok>

  17. Ten or more from the next block and I'll join the title talk <ok>

    ok here's my charts.

    two things

    1. we've clipped the 80point trend line due to our form... the last time was 21st December to take us top for Christmas.

    2. after two hard away games we were f'd until... NOW.
