It wouldn't matter if you agree or if anyone says hes limited as its not a true comment. We could say EKotto looks hopeless based on his form at QPR, but his fans will say he done a fine job for us.

When Carroll has played at a higher level he has looked far from limited and if you asked QPR fans who aren't over critical, they actually say the same thing re Carroll, that he looks like he would become a top player, just not at QPR as he isn't the first player to suffer from playing football with substandard players who can't read passes.

What higher level, EL minnows? sorry mate, good players shine anywhere, with anyone, against anyone. He's had some good games yes, but I don't think he's top PL and never have, and I'll leave it there I think! :)

No. Premier league games agaisnt teams like Arsenal, Everton and Fulham And good players don't shine anywhere, as otherwise teams wouldn't have so many unexpected flops who go onto better things! But I don't expect you or anyone to just agree. I know Carroll could play at a higher level, just like Redknapp could manage at a higher level and Ekotto could play at a higher level, so could Kranjkcar, but all four have been a letdown at QPR.

I agree with the latter.Harry looks like he's out of the top three and may have to rely on the knockout places.
But,like us,QPR are missing their injured/ non performing forwards.

Sorry Boss you're wrong, not sure whats clouding your judgement because I'm surprised you've said this. Why?, because this is how scouting works 90% of the time, looking for gems in amongst the average and the dross. The only thing you are right about is the players being a letdown. No consistancy, ALL of them.

Not all players shine at every club they play for, its not being wrong, its just a fact of football that not all players shine at every club they play at. On the flip side we see young players making a name for themselves in the lower leagues but get found out at a higher level.

Carroll has performed at a higher level then the championship, so its too simplistic to focus on the form at QPR as the entire QPR team has been a let down in terms of their attacking play.

Unless there's mitigating circumstances which in TC's case there isn't, they do at some point, if they don't in any way whatsoever, you may just have to accept the inevitable. Skinny Dembele without the ball winning. :)

Carroll has impressed at various stages, hes been at QPR for a very short period, stop start season due to injuries, playing 14 league games. So unless you have personally been following his season then you will need to base views on QPR fans who are possibly the most miserable bunch of championship fans this year

You can roll of names, Doyle, Zamora, Barton, Jenas..etc all played and performed at a much higher level yet they look hopeless in the championship this year.

Redknapp never does well when at clubs he doesn't want to be at, was the same with Saints and now QPR, hes created a dull atmosphere and the whole team is under performing so theres no real basis to be too critical of Carroll who has either had injuries or been played out of position at various times.

I like Tommy Carroll and up until this season I was optimistic of his chances at becoming a first team player here but with the amount of CM's we have now, plus the recent emergence of Bentaleb AND don't forget Josh Onomah who we'll likely see a lot more of in the near future (regarded as the club's biggest talent), I think Carroll may have to leave the club for permanent first team football as I can't see him getting much of a look in here. He'll be 22 come next season and that seems to be the age where youngsters feel they need to be performing week-in week-out if they're to truly progress in their career. If he goes to the right side he'll be a great asset no doubt about it.

This season has been unfortunate for Carroll.
An influx of MF talent around the same age. Pritchard still on the rise.
Bentaleb getting his chance. Even Holtby sidelined.

He needed a good display at QPR to at least get another PL club interested
in a loan next season. It hasn't happened.

Carroll left the club at the wrong time as Sherwood rates him highly and would have played him, timing is everything in football, we have seen players like Wayne Routledge suffer for most of his career and then he finds a club in Swansea (at a later age) and looks a PL player, after years of fans saying he was useless. If Sherwood isn't appointed manager then yes Carroll will likely have to move but if Sherwood stays then there is still hope, or Sherwood himself will move into management elsewhere if sacked from us, so I would expect him to bring in players from us who never got their chance.

QPR have no chance of automatic promotion now - play-offs at best. 'Arry was wrong to go for the experinced bunch of mainly Spurs rejects thinking that their quality would be enough. It's a 46 game season - you need legs in that division. QPR have run out of steam already.

They haven't run out of steam as they have been playing poor football from the outset, overall their entire team has been a letdown in terms of playing exciting football, even with fresh legs but with Austin in the form he was, they where winning games because of the experience they had meant they could see out wins.

Now with Austin injured, they are struggling to score goals, Zamora and Doyle who have both had impressive periods in the PL, look short of ideas and overall Redknapp is struggling, but if we look at Redknapps career, the two clubs he has struggled with, Saints and QPR, both clubs he took over out of desperation on his part, he clearly doesn't feel at home there and it shows in the team performance.

A Brighton fan takes the piss out of Redknapp following their 2-0 win last night:

Cheeky cow! <laugh> Assou-Ekotto was withdrawn with about 10 minutes to go, following the opening goal. Carroll didn't even feature in the squad. Injured?

With their wage bill, QPR either get back to the PL or get out the long knives.

The bulk of money is owed to shareholders, which depending on the relationship is a safe debt rather then owing to banks etc so I think QPR will be fine as Tony Fernandes is in this for the long hual and much of the debt is from last year. Hughes signed a high number of players and while Redknapp signed Samba, they received their money back on him. Remy was a good purchase and will be sold at a profit so overall QPR haven't spent reckless as the only two signings QPR fans where worried about last year where being stuck with Samba and Remy if they where relegated but as mentioned, Samba was sold and Remy has been impressing on loan.
