If the situation was a one off you could call us 'unlucky.' But it happens far too often for it to be considered bad luck.
The difference between Suarez's finishing and Jay's at present, but a nice performance here (yes it was a good save....but.....). I'd consider Clyne for Chambers and Gaston for Davis at some point early on if it continues like this second half.
In my opinion its that we don't take our chances when they fall to us at the other end. Liverpool are not defending badly.
By the way, the Alan Pardew thing. Is anyone else thinking he didn't actually do **** all? Ma-hoosively overblown tabloid fodder bullshit.
True to some extent, but in general our problem is a lack of cutting edge...we build up slowly, maintain possession and then can't pick our way through a maze of defenders. Today has been a different story; players are flooding forward with few wasted touches and real ambition in attack; if we played like this every week, we'd have far fewer instances where the score didn't match the possession.
If Dani had fallen in love with us like Lovren did, we'd be causing so many problems for the top seven this season. But, it wasn't to be & I'm still very proud of the steps we've taken. A lot of pressure on our strikers at the moment, with very little rotation. Wouldn't be surprised if 'Pool bag a 'against the run of play.......' any minute now. Just to compound the harshness.
On the subject of famous last words, the ref has been excellent in my opinion...using his whistle sparingly and letting this one flow, for the most part. Which means that we're about to get a dubious free kick given against and a Suarez free kick into the corner.
