Well today was pretty much a write off. Best we can hope to do is to push on, not sure who we play next. I'm not particularly gutted as I should be about this debacle as I think most of us felt we wouldn't really win the title anyway. Was nice to compete, at least for a while but we're a long way off a title winning team.
I dont think were a long way off - actually 4 points off as it stands! People havent talked about it much but for me, things turned against us when Walcott got injured. He was looking on fire and a massive massive loss. Losing him and Ramsey basically took out Ozil as well (especially when ox doesnt play). Take suarez out of liverpool, hazard out of chelsea, aguero out of city - theyld all struggle now.
On the bright side Ramsey might be back for the Spurs game. Jack has been bullied too much lately and his performances have been dropping.
So anyone know why Wenger always leaves it to 70+mins to make a sub? Should have made at least 1 sub at half time
4 points isn't a lot, but look at our next 4 games: Spurs- Away Chelsea- Away City- Home Everton- Away We have been **** so far in challenging periods, so these 4 fixtures aren't the best for us to play in.
I know it sounds a bit hopeful, but in some ways it's good that we still have to play Chelsea and City, we need to get those points back from them somehow and no better than to play them. Those games have now become 6 pointers.
If anything we should rest players for the Bayern game and concentrate on trying to win the cup. I'm afraid the CL is out of reach as I don't think Bayern will make the same mistake this year & the league is slipping away. I think our best for this season is (poss) cup win/run & 3rd/4th place (if we can get it together.
Look at how Liverpool are playing, how they start the game, compared to us, where we start slow, lazy, barely do anything. Our performances over the past month have been both SHAMEFUL and DISGRACEFUL for a team that's challenging for the title, in today's game it was like they didn't give a **** just strolling about, and they finally broke some sweat when we went 1-0 down, but that's how we've generally been playing for a while, lazy and just strolling about, there just always has to be something with Arsenal.
I know Giroud tries hard but watching Suarez here in comparison is almost laughable. And thats the stupid thing - 10 million more and we could have got him in the summer
It always seems to happen too, regardless of personnel on the field, which shows that it's clearly the manager at fault.
He wasn't interested in signing for Arsenal, it was more because you was the only club to make a bid, even if you bid 10 million more the move wouldn't have happened. Suarez was hoping for Madrid, Barca or Munich to come in and make a bid and if he stays "clean" then that may well happen this summer.
