Full time 3-0. Comprehensively outplayed by a very good side. That said, it did sound like a rather tame performance from us. Look forward to hearing from those who were there.
Always disappointing to lose, but credit to Leicester. Everything I've read suggests it was a top performance from them. Fortunately, other than Yeovil, no body around us got a point. Still need 1 point from the 3 in hand to escape the relegation zone. Do you guys think 21st could stay up with less than 48 points?
Just got back We were crap, complete crap, played off the park only Wilson, Hamer and Poyet can hold their head high. Wilson no support from RM whether it was Cousins or Harriott. Hamer easily stopped it being 10, was commanding of the box, 2nd goal he produced a wonderful save only for no one to be anywhere near it on the rebound. Poyet, can't play a bad game if he tried, talking to Leicester fans, they couldn't believe he's only a teenager. We didn't win the second ball, showed a very good leciester team far too much respect and we were played off the park. Subs wrong today, selection wrong today, tactics wrong today. Won't hear me say this often but today Powell was wrong in almost every aspect. oh well, onwards to Sheffield!
From the sounds of it, players scared to get stuck in in the fear of picking up an injury ahead of next week, anyone heard anything about Morrison? Super, could easily be less than 48 to stay up, can't see Yeovil and Barnsley getting that many.
Surprised we were that bad, Ted. The pundits from various outlets said we didn't do anything wrong, just outplayed by the better side? Back done to earth after a brilliant 48 hours. And again, thankfully no one around us won.
Wasn't there today, saved my penny's for Sheffield next week, same team bar one as far as I can make out but sounded like we never got out the starting blocks. With all this FA Cup talk I fear the players are taking their eye off the league, rather than using it as a springboard to climb up the table as I was hoping for. Question is IF we win next Sunday will it be the springboard for safety or a major distraction to drag us down.
May not have done anything wrong but the BBC stats (how accurate are they ?) says we had 6 shots one on target & not a single corner. Compare that to Leicesters 26 shots. Nothing wrong, but then, seems like nothing or very little right.
Don't get involved, Capt. This stuff is getting boring. We lost the most difficult fixture in the calendar and our rivals lost matches they needed to get something from. Reading let us down giving 8-man Yeovil a point but I reckon the latter will go down anyway. Much more serious is that the loan window has closed and we have signed no-one. I fear that fact will send us down, not losing at Leicester.
Sorry, I didn't mean to sound arsey, I genuinely wondered what he thought Powell could have done better today. I've already said that it seemed like a tame performance, even allowing for Leicester's quality, so I'm not arguing Powell did well necessarily.
As pointed out on the transfer thread eddie, the loan window closes on March 28th As you say though, most difficult match of the season, not an awful day considering. See no reason we won't finish above Millwall, Blackpool and the aforementioned two.
not having cousins at RM, Wilson at RM and Nego at RB. Church up top on his own doesn't work, he needs someone else with him. Taking Astrid off was a mistake, he wasn't doing much but not messing up like Cousins, Harriots and Jacko were all game. Bringing on Hughes, he wasn't as solid as he has been in the past and it showed intent on sitting back and damage limitations. Just it was a number of little mistakes that on their own are ok, but together were punished by, like i said, a very good Leicester side.
