As a hero of the revolution he was awarded an Irish state funeral . His tricolour draped coffin was paraded through the streets on a tatty cart pulled by the state donkeys and 21 vauxhall vivas were blown up in his honour . The funeral was then followed by three days of moaning .

And left his child fatherless.
