I think David McIntyre sums it up succinctly: @davidmcintyre76: Taarabt never wanted to be at #QPR. That was the case from day 1. They paid a lot & looked after him though. His comments poor & unnecessary. And Rodney offers some balance to this opinion: @RodneyMarsh10: So Tarrabt says his years at #QPR were a waste of time. Funny my 7 years at R's were amongst the happiest of my life... Thanks for that Adel, lovely. PS - I think you're still contracted to the club, who no doubt pay the lions share of your current salary. Have some dignity man!
Even his staunchest fans have never denied he is an idiotic spoilt brat. Got a link to what he actually said Sku?
I'm sure the Taarabt lovers will be on here defending him. Here's the link: http://m.goal.com/s/en-ng/news/4652029/ Adel Taarabt has voiced his admiration for Lionel Messi and aims to become as important to AC Milan as the Argentine is to Barcelona. The 24-year-old has impressed at the San Siro side since joining the club on loan from QPR, after an unsuccessful temporary spell at Fulham before the winter break, and he's keen to earn himself a permanent move to Clarence Seedorf's side. "I am not surprised with my performances at Milan so far. I know what I can do and I feel like an important player at Milan," Taarabt told La Gazzetta dello Sport. "I want to become the Messi of Milan. Players like Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are an inspiration. I am not at their level yet, but it's my objective to get there. "I still have to prove myself, but I believe in my own qualities. "When Milan signed me, I told myself that I have to grab this opportunity with both hands. I have already thrown away four years and cannot afford to waste any more time. "I have little time to convince Milan, but I want to take this chance." Taarabt has a contract with QPR until June 2016, but Milan have an option to make the winger's stay at the club permanent at the end of the season for a set fee.
So let's get this right. He does n't mention us but says he has wasted the last 4 years. And then he authorises David MacIntyre to tweet on his behalf that he never wanted to be at QPR. Read it again before becoming so indignant. Perhaps David Mcaintyre could confirm with a simple yes or no.
Well, I've read it twice and I can't see anywhere where he states that he never wanted to be at QPR. McIntyre is **** stirring!! He obviously has great faith in his own ability and what I take from his comments is that he feels he should have been playing at a higher level for the last 4 years. What's wrong with that? The lad isn't the brightest and has often been caught out either by a clever question, misinterpretation or bad advise. I also suspect that he wants to have a dig back at Harry after all the bad comments (some justified I'm sure) that Harry has flung at him. I'm most disappointed that you found it necessary to start YET ANOTHER Taarabt thread Sku!!
I think that he always thought he was ready to play for milan or barca or whatever. Im sure he think us as a mickeymouse team where he wasted big part of his career. Then again i've never liked him because skill is not everyhing for me if the player lacks in commitment and attempting to till the end........
Bloody hell! So, the likes of Marsh, Bowles, Le tissier, Matta (the list is endless!!) give you no entertainment then?
Complete rubbish I have seen a lot of interviews in the French press A lot of his recent stuff is completely understood IMO . He will of course try currently to get a move to Milan ... What player wouldn't ? He didn't want to play Championship agreed but he has always loved QPR Could Harold say the same ? Which ever way you look at it it doesn't matter ... He can do it now and he has also believed in his talent and skill Already shown he can lift his game and he will as I stand he will grow into a world class name and player It won't take long for the world to look at him as a complete genius... He is Certainly don't see him staying at Milan forever ... He is already loved there and I fully expect him to shine next week and then roll the dice to where he will end up ... The current big clubs will fight over him in the next two seasons ... On course to be the best IMO
I like skilfull players but its not everything to me. I believe Bowles and Marsh both gave us quite of few good years so they absolutely were committed to QPR. Le Tissier was very committed to saints etc. After their career they have always been keen on their former clubs. So those those players met the two requirements of three and that is good enough for me.
Total lack of class, disapointed. There are ways to force a move, this is the lowest method. I say keep him now and make him rot in the reserves for another year. Fool.
"When Milan signed me, I told myself that I have to grab this opportunity with both hands. I have already thrown away four years and cannot afford to waste any more time." I see his comment as more a dig at himself than at us. He had the ability to make it from day one at Spurs and play at the top level but didn't, mostly down to himself. Depends on which way you want to look at it. If you want a negative spin then that's your prerogative.
Don't think it matters which team he was with the last 4 years, unless it was a TOP European team then he'll consider it wasted time. He has that much belief (rightly or wrongly) at what level he should be playing. The fact he was with us just means his remark looks like an insult to us. I see us as the team that help highlight his potential....whether he showed it on a consistent manner is for the AT lovers and haters to continue to argue about.
