Thought Irving was visually superb on Saturday much in the same way Kings Palace was in December. I shall be backing both at the festival
Wicklow Brave in a point, Vautour out about 3/4 of a point and and Irving slightly bigger than he was this morning on betfair. Wicklow Brave is the one who was overpriced with the bookies and the 9/1 was never going to last, wouldnt read anything more into it just now. It wouldnt be the biggest shock in the world if Walsh rode Wicklow Brave, but it will be hard for him to jump off the Grade 1 form of Vautour, of the 2 Wicklow Brave looks much more of a 2 miler.
Someone said on Twitter that Mullins brought his horses to The Curragh and one broke down and it was rumoured to be Vautour (turns out not to be the case). Could be utter ****e though.
Good money for Wicklow Brave on exchanges and Vautour being offered up for good money at 9/2 and a bit of a weakish lay column. Something up with him??
Can you imagine going for a Ruby (BOOM!) with Willie Mullins? He'd be a nightmare disclosing his choices for each dish...with so many to choose from Haha.
Lol ....He wouldnt of decided on his curry in time! He'd go through the menu , have so many options, he'd waffle on and by the time he was close to making any decision the curry house would be closing!!
It's not so much that Irving is 5-2, but that they shorten him in, and don't push market rivals out to compensate. Cheating twats! I'm really undecided about the Supreme this year - I'm taken with the yards confidence about Irving, yet plenty of good judges seem to think he will be found wanting for stamina. Valseur Lido is looking a bit interesting, and DR seems confident about him (well he would, I suppose!)
There was that stat about flat-bred horses reebs - they have a terrible record in this. You need something that will really get up the hill. Vautour at the moment but I need to have a really detailed look once the field is whittled down a bit.
Davy keeping nice and quiet about Western Boy as per the owners instructions, Valseur Lido lads Russell rumoured to have said Western Boy was doing a run of the mill gallop at 7am when he proceeded to engage and outrun the Leighlinbridge milk truck. Took Davy till 9pm that night to pull him up.
Zarkandar Oddy? I know he didn't run on the flat but dad won 5 group 1's - that's got to be flat bred! I know what you mean though, and maybe Zarkandar is the exception that proves the rule?
Sorry Oddy - it was a triumph for me though as I had him and Unaccompanied in the RFC It begs the question though - are the stats the same for the Triumph? And if not, why not? I can understand Cheltenham as a course being dominated by NH beasts!
I was convinced when I saw him Stick, but I allowed other's opinions about his stamina to influence me against. He now isn't much of a price, and may well be bigger very soon, with the amount of negativity around him. Sometimes I wish I didn't read these previews
