He'll be a true Sunderland fan before long !

I've removed the 1st few lines of the article, which make out as if Poyet has said winning the final is more important than staying up, which when you read his quotes he hasnt said at all. He said the feeling of winning will be greater than the feeling of going down which is true (I think most sunderland fans are hardened against relegations these days), however we all know staying up if more important financially and to the long term future.

“It’s going to be special,” he said about Sunday’s final. “This is my first season here and everything was very, very dark and sad when I arrived. Here and now we are 90 minutes, or 120, away from being the happiest people in England.

“The feeling of winning something is far beyond going down, spending two years in the Championship. Why? You need to be here for 20 years and feel it like them, or not reach a final for 15 years, or not win one for more than 40. Only the people who have been here in the city supporting the club for so long really know. They have the feeling, not me. Me, I can say it but I can’t feel it. You need to listen to them and that’s why it’s an incredible opportunity.

“I notice, especially in the young ones, they are going to be there and they are flying. They are so excited. It’s almost like they haven’t thought about who we are playing. They are just thinking about what they are going to do if we win the cup, which is good. It’s a feeling, sometimes when you are inside the football club, that you don’t realise. The players need to feel that, it’s important to have the feeling of the fans.

“What I like is to make people happy and there is no better way then by winning a final, I can tell you that.

I've seen us relegated umpteen times in my 40 years but never seen us win one single trophy of worth. If I had to choose it would be the cup over the league as we have been promoted loads of times too.

Of course I want both the cup win and safety but I have no problems if given the choice as to what I would have.

I'm off to London tomorrow to watch my team in the Cup Final this weekend.

Which shops in the Metro will you be visiting to help pass your Sunday? :emoticon-0102-bigsm:emoticon-0102-bigsm:emoticon-0102-bigsm

The Kübler-Ross model, or the five stages of grief, is the series of emotional stages that someone experiences when faced with impending death or other extreme, awful fate. The five stages are denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. Just advise which stage you are at with our Major Domestic Cup Final this weekend? I'm guessing its still in denial. <cool>

You really are a sad ball bag.

Do you think anything that you say is gonna matter or dampen the mood?

Notice most of the decent Mags have kept away, eating them from inside, but clever enough not to make ****s of themselves. You however, are just showing yourself up, and making a fool out of yourself and club.

    Pathetic.

The five stages are denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. Aren't these the stage that Mike Ashley is experiencing??
