unless you are in serious financial difficulty i recommend you don't bother, hard enough as it is to get on the property ladder, if you are on it try and stay on it, not much dif between renting and owning finances wise now days anyway(unless you go council obviously, but i am more on about private, and council ones are all going to foreigners any way ) ), also if you want to make any alterations to anything there is a lot of bull legally you have to do now days. i wanted to put a simple ****ing satellite dish on the wall (ie sky), and landlord said no problem just need to do some legal bollocks, why i went cable (virgin) glad i did but not the point lol.
I just had to pay out for roof to be sorted, they wanted it done and I got it done quick for them but its different when they're late every month with their rent
There are + and -'s for me I can see why both are a good option but, when you're old you'll still be paying rent where as if you own, hopefully there will come a time when you're mortgage free and that seals it for me We are a nation of "must own property" which I find a bit crazy and I got my first mortgage on house I rent out at totally wrong time, ****ing 2006 So since Ive bought basically houses have devalued
I am actually at that crossroads where if we are going to stay renting or look to get a house. Part of this is actually staying in Cincinnati as there is some new interest possibly in Georgia and back home ( for me) in Memphis. If we stay we are probably looking at a house but gotta say, have enjoyed the rented life, not much in terms of wear and tear I have to worry about!
Planning on moving out this year and have always said I'd rather live at home, save up and buy my first place than go out and rent. If you go and rent, you never really get the chance to save up and buy. Plus renting, landlord only had to give you so much notice before they can kick you out. Not a great situation if you have family etc. My plan is to buy a place then rent out one of the rooms to a lodger (either a mate or find a stranger, preferably mid 20's, female, blonde, good looking and a nymphomaniac )
my mates sister was damn fine, was obviously a no go area though sadly. cant moan though same rule with my sister when i was younger, told my mates to get to ****
Your mates have no ****ing taste Anyway, stop pimping her out to me. She couldn't handle the Hammer of Death
Not so much financial difficulty, I can manage as we are. Its more a lack of bedrooms; two bed terrace but three kids! I've not got any equity in the house (one of last to get 100% mortgage) so no deposit for moving. Only options is mortgage transfer.
