http://www.footballdirectnews.com/p...-join-chase-for-arsenal-flop.php#.UxA_cvl_uiw Bruce has had him on loan before, could be a good addition
He may well have appeared satisfactory to SB when on loan in championship but he was a disaster in the premiership for Arsenal. Thanks but no thanks.
Taylor and now Djourou have been mentioned but neither are better options for us than soon to be out of contract Michael Turner. I think this hamstring injury is hiding the truth. No mention of Norwich offering MT another one either.
Agree Turner returning would be a mistake. I'd fear the wages for Taylor would be huge, and slightly worried about his injury problems. I see Taylor as too similar to Davies too.
Taylor quite possible improves the squad (How many were unsure of Davies before seeing him play for us?). Djourou I don't think would, not a solid enough defender. Too many little mistakes. I'd rather see Chester/Bruce/McShane continue.
I'd take him. Same with Taylor. We will need another centre back next season because Faye won't be here, and I think either Djourou or Taylor would be more than ideal replacements for him - I think some people are getting a bit too picky about the players we're linked with, these two players are proven Premier League players.
Djourou might be proven, but he was also proven to be a failure in English football. Hell, Curtis Davies is more Premier League proven than Djourou. Just because a player has Prem experience doesn't mean they are a good player. Junior Lewis played in the Prem ffs.
I am particularly excited about this rumour for a few reasons. If we are to stay in the premier league and especially if we are to stick with playing 3 at the back then we need CBs especially in home games who are 100% comfortable with the ball at their feet and can play. Not taking a dig at the 3 CBs yesterday as they've been a rock all season but when Chester is not around no one carries the ball out. We either see a hoof or a pass back to the keeper resulting in another hoof thus putting us under pressure more in games. Unfortunately IN MY OPINION in the BPL nowadays as a CB you have to be comfortable on the ball and I'm afraid the 3 at CB yesterday weren't not having a to they just weren't. Now I haven't seen this guy play often but he's obviously tall, strong and quick. With his Arsenal background should be able to play a bit as well so could he do the job of the middle man in the 3 that Faye did so well last season.
