= "I don't know very much about your team at all, but you're only Hull so he must be better than what you've got." I have no strong view on Taylor, but I do think that was a ****ing stupid thing to say. Why can't people just admit what they don't know about football? If you've never seen James Chester play no ones going to mind, but don't pretend to have an opinion on him and pretend to 'know' that someone you have heard of is automatically better. You probably acknowledge Davies is alright just because you've seen us say it. But Chester isn't far behind him at all and since we don't rave about him as much you wouldn't know it. Similarly, I don't know much about Palace's or Cardiff's defenders aside from Caulker. At clubs like these who haven't been in the PL long. Everyone knows the big name players but that's about it.
Logic aside his point still stands, the guy made 232 appearances and won 12 major trophies with United.
All completely subjective I suppose, there's no doubt at his best he was a better than Davies is now, however I haven't seen enough of him recently to say if that's still the case.
I don't think he's as good as he was a few years ago when he was been chased by Arsenal and Liverpool. Which is why he needs a change of club. I think it would be an excellent deal for us.
If there's one thing I'm not worried about it's Bruce's evaluation of central defenders. Whoever he rates in that position must be good.
