i had my tattoos done when it was still considered you was some type of thug etc if you had one and had a taboo feel to it if you had them, also i don't follow the it crowd, i am my own person, always have been, my other half is a fashion victim though lol various reasons why you would have a tattoo jb, in memory of someone, has more meaning than just having a photo its also normally more permanent, ie photos can easily be destroyed and the memory erased, well the visual aspect of it obviously. or some actually have them done as they enjoy the pain, some like the particular artwork, you can as you say just have the artwork, but all that is is a furnishing in your home.
Sorry JB you're talking out your backside there mate. That is a very general assumption and its a ridiculous one My mate and other tattooists that he meets around the world at conventions are heavily into it, they're artists and their work is being put somewhere where it will stay forever Sure you get silly Moyes out tattoos but you sound snobish to say its just a fad to have a tattoo. Some of my mates are covered in them and they had them done because they like them! If the reason is for the picture they like or if for something that means something to them like a portrait of a family member, pet or whatever. You cant generalise and say they have only had one done as its in fashion that ridiculous to say that is mate
I don't see how a 'personal' tattoo is personal given that a person gets it to put on display, that's not personal, it's exhibitionist. I do understand the reasons you've put there as to why some people get tattoos and if it makes them happy then that's a good enough reason. Each to their own.
It's undeniably a fashion. That doesn't necessarily make it bad, nonetheless that's what it is. Like bondage trousers or big hair. I doubt that I will be around in 30 years time to prove I'm right, but you younger folks might. So remember what I said. Better still, get it tattooed on yer arse.
Dont say that Tattooing has been practiced for centuries so to just pass it off as a fashion is a bit insulting I reckon! Also Johnson I wasnt being arsey (just in case you thought I was ) But anyway, each to their own. I personally think a well done tattoo is good to look at and I can also see why people would get one done because they like the picture or want to do a tribute to something on their body Like i say I havent got one myself but that doesnt mean I dont like them. Just never bothered even though had lots of chances with my friend even offering one as a birthday present My other mates have had a lot done by him though
I have no tattoos or desire to have a tattoo. However, doesn't bother me if people have them or not. Depends on their motivation. A lot of people have them because they like them and that's great. A lot of people have them to symbolise something they hold dear... that's also great. I find it amusing people who have them to be different (just like everyone else) but again.. who cares... their choice. Then there are people who have them to "be on the edge"... no it doesn't make you "on the edge" and it will make you look a tool later in life when you outgrow your edgy tattoo... but that's their choice. If they like it... good for them. The only tattoos I don't like are hard man tattoos... tattoos that people get with the intention of offending others or making themselves look tough for street cred. No good comes of that. Really... all in all, I don't mind tattoos for the most part as long as they are innocent in nature. Certainly, I found in my college days a girl with a rose on her thigh or a butterfly on the small of her back usually indicated the girl was easy... and thus worth pursuing for the night... ... well at least if she was exposing the tattoo she was... I'll never get a tattoo because my personality is always changing and so are my interests. I've always liked Liverpool for example... but until about 2003/2004 I was way more interested in F1 and football was on the back burner. By 2020 I may be bored with football and start watching zero grav naked women's mud wrestling instead.
Of course it has, amongst a very narrow demography, because it was fashionable for them. I don't understand why you need to see the "fashion " label as insulting. You call it art, but art- painting, music , literature etc, always follows trends so there's no difference there. Personal appearance is the thing that has been most subject to fashion throughout the ages, because it's the one thing that almost all people have some control over and they can use it to express themselves. But it is always a snapshot of a particular moment in a cultural cycle, and to make out that tattooing somehow transcends this trend is patently absurd. Its moment has come, and it will just as inevitably go. P.s. I'll make sure I live long enough to say "Nah, nah", just for you, Doc.
Suarez has that damn tribal tat on his right arm. The others are Ok, have meaning, but never understand the tribal one if you are not Samoan, voodoo, Native American, etc.
Just had a brief sojourn on the manc board. It's like a kindergarten. Honestly don't know why you guys bother, the only intelligent ones (and UiR) come over here anyway. And just what is Tobes all about? He'll defend the indefensible just to have a go at LFC. Weird.
