I'm affraid of Liverpool. We won at Anfield (only team to achieve that this season), but we were in full strenght, while Liverpool was without Suarez and Coutinho and also playing with 4 centre backs. It will be a different story on saturday. I fear that the number and quality of trough balls Liverpool can provide in a game trough Suarez, Coutinho, Gerrard ecc. for the likes of Sterling and Sturridge, combined with our high defensive line and huge spaces left to exploit, will be devastating for us. Therefore i can see them scoring a few times and the only way we can win is to outscore them, which is possible given how susceptible their defense is. But overall, I think we'll lose. Hope I'm wrong.
We played them at home last march with Suarez playing for them and used our same tactics as we do every game....and we know how we did last time.
You can't be scared of 1 player. We just have to cut off his supply. He'll get frustrated and...............
Looking forward to the contest of Shaw vs Flanagan, for me the future England LB and RB. Also Pools midfield have improved greatly so should be a good battle in the middle
As far as we are concerned there is one flaw in the pressing logic - every side has tried it against us with varying degrees of success. The other factor is that we are not at home and can afford to kick the ball away if need be. Now there's a thought. You press high mob handed and we kick it away - only we kick it into the areas you vacated and SAS run riot! Never know it could happen.
Exactly. He hasn't scored for a few games, but in that time he has topped the league table for assists and has played brilliantly every game. Unlike players like RVP, Negrado, Torres etc etc. these players when not scoring aren't doing much else. Suarez on the other hand will be in your face for 90 mins, suddenly pop up in RB then 20 seconds later be making a deadly move on the LW. He chases the game and doesn't wait for the game to catch up with him. Lets face it he's due a goal, is it 3 or 4 games without? For him that's a major drought!! Really looking forward to this one to be honest, as I respect Southampton highly. I also live in Weymouth these days so I'll be there
Saints taking on Liverpool used to be one of the highlights of the season for me. Now, its all just a bit dull. For once, I won't complain if the players are not up for it on Saturday, because I won't be.
Think we'll lose this 1-3. Liverpool are class this season! Hopeful that rickie can play like he did for the second half of the Fulham game.
