Big debates on facebook right now for anyone who subscribes to facebook.

Just type in - Capital ONE Cup Final Trafalgar Square Street Party for updates.

Many people suggesting that people still meet at T Square and move onto Leicester Square and Covent Garden. In my experience, L Square & Covent Garden would be perfect as there are a load of bars around there and its a big area to accommodate the 1000's planning to meet up.

Sunderland fans' hopes of partying it up on Saturday night in Trafalgar Square, as is custom, have been shelved as the local council have confirmed that the area will play host to a Russian festival instead.

Trafalgar Square will instead play host to "Maslentisa" which is a traditional Russian religious festival apparently. Not being Russian or religious in any way myself I couldn't tell you what it's about at all, but a glance to Wikipedia seems to suggest it's something a bit like Pancake Day.

Sunderland fans will have to find somewhere else now, and speculation is now mounting that Covent Garden, a mere half-mile from Trafalgar Square, will be the destination of choice.

If you're interested in seeing where people will be then head to the Sunderland forums and make your own plans.

It's a shame that this has happened, but it's something that can't be helped. Wherever Sunderland fans end up it's likely to be a cracking atmosphere.

There are a few pubs close to Wembley that are allocated to SAFC fans on the day:

Assume door staff will be asking to see tickets as proof of allegiance

I heard today that they plan to cordon the area off and also the pubs around Wembley will stop serving alcohol 1 hour before the match an the same pubs will not be showing the match on TV.

No mate there are pubs specifically showing the game, fans are advised to give themselves an hour to get from boozers to your seats and to start making way from 1pm

i've looked into all that (see build up thread) crystal bar is showing the match, fans will be encouraged to depart 1 hour before KO to get to there seats, police may have to enforce if fans did not disperse but i cannot see that can you?

plenty of pubs will be showing the match but the police will have to help (thats what it will be) i'm speaking to mates who are saying they are taking there tickets out on saturday and going straight to the match - numpties

you will have no problem watching the match around wembley, may have a break in drinking time if we start going on like knobs but i doubt it

OK mate, that's good news at least, but I meant Trafalgar sq. would be cordoned off. Something to do with these Russians.
