I think its another sign that Evans is not prepared to spend any more money on players, Wigan get Tunnicliffe no doubt funding a lot of his wages from their parachute payments, Leeds get Wickham probably because they offered to cover most of his money. Now Mcgoldricks out what a difference Connor would have made to our strike force and as you say we get Green. If Evans has lost interest in our Club I wish he would sell up to someone who would take us forward, it isnt the fans fault he wasted millions on hopeless managers and useless players.

Why would we want CW when we have Nouble? They also signed Jack Butland, two decent signings and we get their cast offs, priceless!!

I am starting to get truly depressed by our seeming lack of ambition

Thanks without you and Blackburn taking our crap and freeing up some funds,we would still have Green and Varney dragging the reserves down.

I've heard a rumour our financial plight may be worse than just Evans "losing interest" in the Club.

Hopefully it's just that we are actually trying to run our club within our means. I mean we probably have one of the best paid managers in the division.

For all we know Mick could just like the players he's signed over others, I mean Hunt, Ebanks Blake, Berra and Cresswell I'd imagine would be on decent money. Add to that I'd imagine so is Murphy and McGoldrick, not to mention Tabb

    No problem.

Talking of taking crap off hands, how is David Norris doing for you?

You mock Westy, but Norris was one of the last goal scoring midfielders we actually owned. Not saying I'd want him back but I wonder how he would do next to Skuse.

There are a few good loanees in the championship right now, sadly none of them are with us. It does make you think what kind of player Mick always targets though because obviously there was some quality available.

At least Wigan and Leeds are gearing up for a push to make the play offs, while we lose our leading goalscorer by a country mile and dont get someone in to replace him for the rest of the season, perhaps we are just not clever enough to appreciate this tactical master stroke!

He is still young mate, 8 goals in 11 games for Sheff W this season is pretty good, so i wouldn't mock, better than anything we have!!

He would still be running round aimlessly just with a decent footballer next to him instead of another clueless idiot!

"He would still be running round aimlessly just with a decent footballer next to him instead of another clueless idiot!!"

Said exactly what I was going to say!!!

I assume we remember Keith Andrews, who apart from score some beautiful goals caused one hell of a midfield issue for the remaining 85 minutes a match.

I certainly do not miss David Norris one jot, not considering what we paid !

Not sure what point you're trying to make Warky but

    8 in 11 = 72%
    16 in 34 = 47%

Somebody with a better maths brain can turn that into goals per game but its clear that Wickhams spell at Wednesday was very deadly in comparison to McGoldricks spell here.

Wickham is not better than Dids and that was what the original post alluded to!

My point was that he's gone to Leeds.

So no aspirations beyond the Championship.

To be pedantic the OP claimed Wickham was better than Paul Green but I understand you meant Spanish's post.

And just for arguments sake I'm testing the claim
    Career Club First team appearences/goals

    Wickham - 128/28 = 21%
    McGoldrick 270/70 = 25%

(What were the chances that the last two figures in both sets would be the same!)

There's practically nothing it especially considering Wickham has scored some premier league goals and Mcgoldrick has scored league 1 goals.

But the fact of the matter is, for the rest of the season we have neither...
