And in mid December when most folks are skint and don't go to football?

Don't forget thousands paid what they wanted that night as turnstiles were overwhelmed.

Why? We took that many to Anfield when 5-1 down and only getting crowds of 6 or 7,000.
Other clubs sell out their allocations for midweek replays.

More turnstiles would have been available of course, and people would have got in before half time, if our inept police forces' "intelligence" officers hadn't told SYP to expect about 2,000.

Same as when we took about as many as we were getting at home just before Xmas to Elland Road to play the might of Blyth Spartans.

It was bad. I was quite lucky as I only missed their first goal.

It was quite funny when the city fans in the corner eventually got in at half time. Until the coins started being lobbed over.

We've got the fan base for sure the catchment area is massive some of my mates talk about City all the time listen to them on the radio watch them why they don't go i don't know because talking to them you would think they are regulars. Look at Hull fc when they were in the second division years ago playing at the boulevard i am sure they were getting crowds of 15,000-16,000 but now having been to Wembley last season and playing in super league they get around 11,000 it must be Hull and the times

I loved that game at the Wendies, possibly still my favourite away game.

    I agree.

I were only 9 but I remember it better than nearly every other away game i've been to.

You couldn't sell out the last time you was up mate. if the game was at sunderland then you would get 7,000 tickets & you wouldn't sell that sorry.

You couldn't sell 2,900 the last time you was up here so there is no chance in hell you would sell out 7,000 sorry.

It was a poor attendance because it was a early kick off on Tv, we just sold out for wembley & it was our 8th home game already in 2014. teams like Hull only played about 3 home games.

In the mid 60s we got good attendances. I had a season ticket but most people just turned up and paid at the gate. I lived near Craven Park and sometimes I'd go to Rovers night matches but only decide last minute. Now you usually have to buy tickets in advance and a lot of people don't like that. I remember living in London and watching the build up to the FA Cup Final on TV and thought I'd like to go so I went to Wembley and bought a ticket off a tout. We should increase our capacity to 34,000 and let people know they can just turn up and get in.

There was much talk of us not selling out our allocation at the time, but the match report said 'almost 3,000 travelling fans', so we must have sold most of them.

Funny that how double the number of people can make it to a game hundreds of miles away but can't get to a home game that's an hour or so earlier than normal.

Alright 83 - seems to me your next league game isn't till March 15? Given that you will go for it in the LC Final but at the same time your relegation fears could be increased depending on other teams results both this weekend and next, do you think you will field a weakened team at the KC to try and ensure you pick up more league points?
