    I was just wondering if we did happen to get through to the final would Long and Jelly still not be able to play or are they "unbarred".

    They can't play. That's them finished in the cup for this season.

    Nope, a cuptie lasts the whole tournament. Defoe signed for Portsmouth the season they won it but could'nt play whatsoever. Same for Fowler when he rejoined Liverpool in 2006.


    As I have said previously, it's an outdated rule that seriously needs addressing.
