Possibly, but probably not. That would be the ultimate short term fix, but would almost certainly put off any other managers from taking the job. Why would Klopp or Guardiola or anyone consider the job, if they knew there was a replacement sitting there in the stands waiting for them to fail? Besides which, I doubt even SAF could magic up a 4th place finish at this stage of the season. No point gambling on the hope we might win the CL.
