A few seasons Angelic ? Your memory isnt what it was from 1974 to 1980 Dicks made us a legitimate force in the land, envied by many and feared by some of the best. He did it by developing the youngsters, who all materialised at the same time, and by some miraculous signings like Gow, Mann, Sweeney, Cheesely and Norman Hunter
Since I started supporting City there have been 7 promotions plus four seasons in the old First Division and one extra season which ended with the play-off final at Wembley. That comes to eleven seasons in nearly 65 years. so 15% of my time watching City has been "successful" and 85% NOT! No wonder I am a pessimist when it comes to football. PS; plus seven relegations and an eighth looming!
Of course, supporting Rovers is no better! At least we made it to the top Division and beat Arsenal away. Didn't we make it to 2nd in the table at one point? If so, we were once the second best team in England (and Wales). I like the sound of that.
No. I would say that together they make a decade Sadly they are history now, but at least we know lightening can strike the same place twice
