Putting one up before the price goes at Wincanton tomorrow. CTAPPERS 12-1 2.50 is fighting fit from the flat. He looked pretty decent early on in his juvenile hurdling career but tailed off a little. As a result his mark has dropped from 115 to 105 and the booking of Richard Johnson really catches the eye.

Jumpers bumpers selections;
Ginger Fizz
One Lucky Lady
Supreme Present
Chalk It Down
Empire Levant
Inner Drive
Prettyasapicture (what a lovely name for a filly)

He was nearly one for me but enthusiasm tempered by giving so much weight to MIDNIGHT LEGEND who isn't too shabby!

I wouldn't be that confident RV; not with Midnight Thunder and Keel Haul in the race. Good luck though <cheers>

15:30 Bangor - Quel Elite

(Took a chance at 6/1 with this one. Trainer James Moffatt brings the gelding down from Cumbria after some fair runs. Could be a bit of a plodder but with the distance and heavy ground conditions, that shouldn't be too much of a problem. Bred to stay, for sure).

GL today everyone!

Morning, team. Hope everyone well. Lighten up a bit though. Cor blimey, I dozed off again reading this thread earlier!

Pilgrims, are we all salivating at the thought of Mr Henderson’s Vodka N Tonic later on this afternoon?!? Eh, I say, eh???

Finally, Cheltenham quiz quest. What type of race was last run at the Cheltenham Festival in 1955??? Clue - old boy Lester Piggott won one of these in the preceeding term of 1954. First correct answer wins a 'Barney Bonus'.

Is this the Juvenile Chase? Read about that race when looking at some old CGC winners.

Though Venetia appears to be able to little wrong at present I couldn't be having her jolly in the 4.00 at Bangor. Take the Mick is odds on but is lining up for his 3rd race in 7 days on heavy ground. Incentivise @ 15/2 for Richard Lee is my selection. Yard in reasonable nick, horse coming down the the weights and down in grade, the very capable claimer Nolan in the saddle. Good luck all.

Regarding the recent 'value' discussions, I noted that in Ron's list of preview events the Cheltenham show included the forum's favourite trainer and AP in the line up. If that wasn't good enough throw in pie and peas (no mash?) and a £5 free bet. All for a tenner. Value with a capital V Sir Barney?

Not correct so far. Another clue - in these types of races when the winner passes the post and then the saddle monkey weighs in it is not the end of proceedings. In fact you could say that then the real excitement commences...

Chan, I think those ‘Preview Nights’ went past their sell by date a few years ago. They have now seemingly reached saturation point and given the blanket media coverage of the Festival these days from about November onwards I always wonder what new point of view they can possibly reveal to be honest. There have also been countless examples of people saying one think at one event and something else at another (usually bookie chappie representatives...oh the rogues). In saying that though an evening with Mr Henderson for just a tenner is certainly a great offer and Value with a capital ‘V’.

Correct. The Barney Bonus is yours.

Actually, people, wouldn’t it be great to see such a heat re-introduced. Certainly more interesting than the dire and diluting ‘Mares Hurdle’ and ‘Ryanair Chase’. Chuck £100k at the heat and make it the seller to end all sellers. Bit of free advice there for the Chletenham Executive.
