Max Ehmer out for season...ok I know he is not a 1st teamer, but he has been becoming cover for the defence on and off in the last few matches http://www.qpr.co.uk/news/article/250214-ehmer-ruled-out-1382603.aspx So Season-Ending Injuries..............Faulin, Austin, Phillips, Simpson, Ehmer ..... long-term injuries.......................... Onuaha, Benni, AJ, Zamora (no-one cares) Constant niggles..................Hoillet, Jenas It has been a bit limiting to keep a settled team
Well you can add to the niggling injuries Matty was out early in the season, and so was Charlie, add Kranky to that, etc, etc Bit depressing ????
I think that Ehmer should have been given first team experience by now, same with Michael Harriman. Both have potential to become 1st team regulars. A shame they havent been fully blooded.
Defender Max out for 10-12 weeks following shoulder surgery … DEFENDER Max Ehmer is likely to miss the rest of the season after undergoing shoulder surgery on Monday. The 22 year-old defender – who is a product of the club’s youth system – injured his shoulder when he fell awkwardly during last Tuesday’s reserve fixture at Crystal Palace. Head of Medical Services Dr Peter Florida-James told www.qpr.co.uk: “Max damaged one of the ligaments in his shoulder and had to undergo surgery in order to have that repaired. “In terms of recovery time, it is likely to be between 10 and 12 weeks so it is quite possible he will miss the remainder of the season.”
its a shame you have had so many, could it be down to management, hope you guys can regain some form. when things aren't going your way it seems everything goes agaist you. I think you have brought into many players in the jan window could have done with quality rather than quantity, seems harry tried the scatter gun than sven tried with us.
Seems strange that you should have so many players out injured in these days where clubs use sports science. In our pre season friendlies, players wore monitors on the back of their lower neck (top of spine). Whilst you cant do a lot about bad falls, does your club use sports science to its fullest? Serious question.
this is something I have been thinking about, but even if I could be arsed to research it, the data might not be available. Are the extreme levels of fitness required by the modern game resulting in the stresses now be put on the bodies and possibly minds of those players who do manage to make it through the ranks all the way through to the first team, becoming too much for many players which means that regardless of how talented you are as a footballer, regardless of how hard working you are, it's now all down to the genetics you are born with as to whether you can sustain a career playing regular football or spend your life being off loaded by clubs because you are classed as a sick note?
To bore you with this again we got through the entire 42 game 75-76 season with a squad of 18, and 6 of them played less than 5 games each. I think there is a case to say that players are generally fitter and trained to a point where they are always on the edge of injury nowadays. You see it in rugby football as well as association football. Niko Krancjar is the example par excellence of this trend.
