possible theory, but then how do you explain the same type of temples built in other countries where no water existed?

i am the complete opposite oddly.

none have convinced me of the existence, issue i have with religion is anything that challenges it is quickly met with force ie the opera of the jerry springer that a lot of fuss was made about and they wanted removing, why? am i not allowed to make my own mind up, yet in the same breath a lot more effort seemed to have been put into making dan brown and the di vinci code out to be a load of bollocks. i had an re teacher that took great delight in shoving the turin shroud down my throat when it was discovered in 86 (think?) turns out later carbon dating showed it to be fake, i didn't shove my beliefs or lack of, down his throat, and he was supposed to be a teacher, oh well, **** happens i guess.

any way i hope no offence has been taken by my views, as none was intended(know a few are religious on here), just saying where i am coming from, been nice having a semi intelligent discussion for a change, all my other half (not married <laugh>) talks about is soaps and reality crap.

I dont know, they may have used a log rolling system on the floor or something

Personally I like to think Aliens built them. Predators put them there to breed Aliens for their hunting games

Well this is what you said,
    Perhaps I've misunderstood it?

If you believe God does not exist, how could you prove the non-existence of something that doesn't exist?
As I said, it's all about belief.
God could prove his existence by coming down and performing miracles amongst us, (but we'd probably just think it was David Blaine anyway), but no-one can prove He/She/It doesn't.
All we can do is show how all the things that have previously been ascribed to God could exist anyway without a sentient Creator thereby removing the need for a creator.

"If God didn't exist- it would be necessary to invent him". -Voltaire.

can't tell if you are being serious or not? trucks lol.

logs is a possible way of moving them along with water, but how about lifting them? i have seen the pulley idea, don't stand up to me.

think its stonehenge, and they think they might have been moved along the river way as well, ie the earlier wooden structure they found, linking the 2, but again doesn't solve the problem of how those huge rocks was lifted, same as the pyramids.

also the temple that was built where the rocks looked welded together so even a sheet of paper couldn't get in the cracks, 2000 odd years ago, how the ruddy hell was this managed?

No offence taken and likewise hope I haven't offended. <ok>

I don't necessarily actively seek out trying to find things to test my beliefs, more like I don't avoid them. Religious faith or lack of, is a lot to do with your upbringing. I was raised Christian but until you actually get to a point in your life where you choose it for yourself, it means very little. I respect atheist and agnostic points of view, the real problem is when people use their differences as a way into a fight.

Maybe it should have read 'evolution from monkeys, ha, ha' - [I only mentioned monkeys because that's the usual come back when asking where did we come from if not God's creation].

For me it's more than just belief - it's very difficult to put across. Human life is a miracle and I can't accept that we are here purely by chance.

    Now you're talking.

I think people today often underestimate the ingenuity of people 2 or3 thousand years ago. Their technology was obviously much more primitive than ours, but then ours was built on the foundations of theirs, and their problem-solving capabilities were as good as ours.

In many respects, it's a miracle that the progenitors to life as we know it came into existence. An incredible number of variables need to slot into perfect place for this to happen. However, once it has, evolution does the rest. It's as wonderful and as simple as that <ok>

For me, all life is a fascinating miracle- not just human. The universe is a constant source of mind-boggling strangeness and I would love to know what it is truly all about in a way that makes sense to me.
It's not "chance" because everything has a cause - all events are the result of myriad and complex prior events. Unravelling that puzzle is what fascinates me.
Though I have to leave the actual work to others as my skills lie more in the arts than the sciences, I still find it absorbing.
