Despite all the recent shenanigans, it's clear the fans are up for the dog fight. Because of the demand the Club have taken an extra allocation of tickets (500 I think) for the West Brom game. http://www.fulhamfc.com/news/2014/february/18/additional-wba-tickets Should be raucous at the Hawthorns. Wonder what song they'll come up with for Felix?
I love this. I think most fans, whilst embarrassed by the way it happened, are glad it happened. if he gets us out of this mess I'm going to put him up there just below my adopted father Roy. If he can emulate what he did then I've got a tough decision to make in dropping Roy for Penfold!
Pity I can't go to The Hawthorns myself (although last time the parking/traffic leaving was awful so I don't miss it). This season is starting to feel like The Great Escape - Just repeat those away wins! C O Y W !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Every time I hear his name mentioned, I can't help but hear the theme tune to the old cartoon 'Felix the Cat'. Felix Magrath, the wonderful Felix Magrath Whenever he gets in a fix, Mitroglou puts it between the sticks . We can but hope!
Well, seeing as how he does look a bit like Penfold perhaps we should just use the words to the Dangermouse theme song, they would be particularly apt if he kept us clear of relegation. All together now "he's terrific, he's magnific. he's the greatest super-hero of them all......"

The fans on Saturday were just great. And they are obviously staying right behind the team. The Club have announced that all the upper teir seats for the Villa game have been sold and that the lower tier ones are now up for grabs. Good on the Club also in subsiding the ticket prices and continuing to lay on free transport. A terrific gesture but also calculated as the more support the better the chances of a result! Very fulhamish of the club.
And a giant flag is in the process of being made to be used as home and away games. The song on Sat re Mitroglou was to the tune of Vindaloo....so....Mitroglou, Mitroglou na na, na...he'll score one more than you...etc you get it.
Anyone looking at going to the Villa game you can get cheap tickets from Euston to Birmingham New Street for half price on thetrainline.com you can then get a local train from New Street to Aston. I booked mine yesterday... COYW!!!!
It occurred to me this morning that Vindaloo is a song with a Fulhamish connection. As well as lead singer Keith (father of Lily) Allen being a long-term fan, the na, na, naaa bit was inspired by the bloke who used to take a trumpet onto the Hammersmith End in the 90s. I think the story goes that Keith Allen took Alex James along to a game, and Alex was really taken with the trumpet, so he worked a variation of that into the record when they were working on it.
You're correct on the Keith Allen connection...I have also seen him pretty smashed a game back in the Div 1 days....promptly thrown out.
Wasn't he the guy with his hand up Orville, he'd be thrown out just for that let alone drunk in charge of a canary! Only joking I know that was Ray but I needed some cheering up, a hard day at the mill today.
Keith Harris was the Orville bloke. Ray Alan was a ventriloquist from a generation or two before him and worked with a puppet called Lord Charles.
