Can we keep Remy?

Indeed. I can't see the point in slagging Pards for telling it how it is. If he turned around and said we'd love to keep him, we'll be doing everything in our power to sign him, I'd have less respect because we all know "we" (i.e. Ashley) will not be doing everything to keep him. We all know the score and its unlikely to make a difference whether we did make the effort or not. Even in good times when we had an owner who either wanted us to do well or was stupid enough to pay the money beyond our means to make us do well, we'd still have struggled to keep Remy. He is acknowledged as a top 4 type player. We are a mid table club with mid table ambitions. A player like Remy knows this. He is an Arsenal fa. His idol is Henry. Podolski is likely to head back to Germany. It all seems set for a move to Arsenal to me. I think him and Debuchy would be terrific for them and I could see both deals happening if Sagna and Podolski leave.

 

Are you going to be there with your camera or have you seen it all before.

 

I'll be the one parking a double decker bus outside to partially obscure the view, in case the local kids get scared.

Sorry, we slate Pardew when he spouts unrealistic bull **** and we slate him when he states the facts. What is he supposed to say to the question: "Does Remy become harder to hold onto with every goal he scores ?" that is going to win our approval ?

Remy won't stay.

I think he would if we'd kept Cabaye and added to the squad but not now. He's the sort of player we need if we want to have any chance of a top 6 finish in future seasons but at the moment the true, top quality palyers in our squad are becoming less and less.

We currently have Tiote, Debuchy & Colo. Krul isn't far off but until his kicking and distribution in general improve he can't be classed as top quality.

 

Pretty much how I see it and I'd add Sissoko, Anita and LDJ to the Krul bracket of having the potential to be top class with some improvement.
