We should call them by their names. Alternatively we could call one 'Frank the yank' and the other 'sweetcorn relish' - that would bring back memories of another great partnership in Hull
So, now we've seen Long play in a few games, are the detractors who didn't think he was the right player for us eating humble pie? For the record, I think he's an excellent signing. I'm also surprised we were given a second chance. Particularly after our first bid made other clubs aware he was available and the likely fee to secure his services.
the fact that shane long and nika both warmed up tonight (caught on tv) says a hell of a lot about spirit in the camp
That's awesome! I think it's amazing how tightly-knit the squad is. As Meyler said the other day, it's one of the closest squads I've seen in years. When the nucleus was formed under Pearson, I saw this sort of dynamic forming, with the United youngsters as that first core, which then expanded to Irish players, then to ex-Sunderland players, then ex-Rangers players, etc. etc. Everyone has at least one connection to each other except for Figueroa and Sagbo (I think). And perhaps telling that they've almost been the most disappointing Bruce signings, along with Prozzie out on loan.
Just watching MoTD on iPlayer. Am I the only one who found themselves smiling whilst watching Long and Jelavic tear them a new one?
Gary Neville ‏@GNev2 I thought when WBA let Shane Long go it was strange! I can now confirm it's madness!
