we start with the 3 sides coming up Norwich h, Swans a, QPR h.

Hope the unknown factor dosen't catch us out like last year.

After 3 games we could be flying at the top or in some serious trouble early in the season.

    Whats everyone's thoughts???

Based on how erratic your performances were last season, the first 2 games could be tougher than you expect, especially Swansea away.

We are hoping for a point on the opening day, 3 if we can play for 94 minutes as we did every game last season.
Impossible to know what's going to happen but we can dream <ok>

should be a good 1st game and think it could easily be 4-1 (not prepared to commit to which team will get the 4 or the 1)

No disrespect to Wigan but if we are to sustain top flight status these are the games we need to be taking points from. I think its a good opener and it will show what we are made of, be good to take the win and carry on this momentum we've built up over the past 18 months. Just be sure that Paul Lambert will be setting his side up to win like every game home or away this no fear attitude has seen us take back to back promotions so I wouldn't be too arrogant on the opening day as we'll take the game right to you, look forward to meeting you their I'm sure we'll bring as many tickets as you'll give us. Good luck bar against us!

Yeah shold be a good start. Best of luck for the season. From what iv'e seen of the sides coming up this year they all look to be good footballing sides.

Kidding right? Norwich & Swansea were the best 2 footballing sides in the Championship for certain but QPR had little flair about their play. They got results, no question but not always too pretty to watch.

Yep. Like i said we could be sitting pretty at the top of the pile on 9 points or quite easily be playing catch up at the bottom with 0 points. Just need a bit of consistancy next season.

If we start like we did last season we'll struggle all year, if we continue our form from the end of last season, we'll be top when we visit City.

Us Swans first three away games are Man City, Arsenal and Chelski so a tough introduction, on the other hand our first three home are Wigan, Sunderland and West Brom.
Feeling ok about that, and with your inconsistency last season, our top home form, the return of the former Messiah Martinez all in our first top flight home game in 28 years I'm feeling confident for points!

    Can't wait!

    Good luck one and all!

I think he'll be booed and cheered in equal amounts, by going the way he did could have put Swansea back a couple of years ,not only by him going but all the back rom staff as well . I think the pain will have lessened now as we're where he wanted to be and in my opinion I think we got the better deal management wise since then.

On a personal level at the time of his departure I felt betrayed, but Wigan was always going to be a strong pull for him. What upset most fans wasn't just him leaving, but the manner of it with regards his previous pledges of loyalty. Didn't take me long to get over it, we all move on, and I for one was rooting for Wigan to avoid relegation. I think he's certainly increased his moral stock following the Villa approach.

As for his return I for one will be on my feet applauding him, but you will have a vocal minority airing their continued grievance.
In the long run he cemented a style that has been improved upon and taken us to the Premiership, so for me he'll become a Swansea legend.

Good luck for the season FTS!

When Martinez quit Swansea i felt nothing but anger towards the guy, his defiant words were the only way he would ever leave Swansea is if he was kicked out. Boy did that change when Wigan came sniffing. Now I'm glad as we have found a manager who is better imo, he knows how to defend for a start. When Martinez comes down I wont waste a breath in booing nor cheering for what he done.

My full support is for Buck :)

reading your post jimmyswan i can tell that you are very passionate about your club but that passion will be tested to the limet if you go on a losing run or worse still one of the big clubs comes in for one of your players maybe your best player and he wants to leave because that club plays in europe and worse still sombody wants your manager and the offer of money and players will be to big of prize to turn down.so as you see the premership is a very unforgiving place when things are not what you want to happen...

anyway keep the pasion and good luck.
