Aluko spent a huge part of his game being rugby tackled - the ref could and should have been firmer. He not quite there, but he's getting there. On the other hand we are blessed with 'thinking' midfielders in Koren (tonight) and Thud, but we need more energy (not just pace) from that role every game, not one in five; others are compensating and it is skewing the talent balance, we had busy little bees running all over the shop, but very little sting.
Elmo Fryatt Livermore I had Chezzy as MotM at half time, but he went to pot a bit in the second half when he got knackered. I can't understand why Aluko is getting so much grief.
In all fairness I think there's only me giving him any real grief. PLT and Chazz have said he was frustrating. I thought he was dire.
Thought the ref had a really weird game. He had a spell where nothing was a free kick for either side and at other times was ridiculous fussy. Both of the free kicks which led to goals looked soft to me.
Yep, an inconsistent ref is worse than a moody wife; he didn't spoil the game but he didn't help it either, very average.
Koren - Usually his biggest critic but tonight I thought he was like the Koren of old Davies - I'm sure he's in my top 3 every week Elmo - Brighton really struggled to deal with him, particularly in the first half
Elmo Fryatt Davies And a special mention for Brighton's goalscorer As the junior tigers both bet on a 2-1 win for Hull City 300 or so singing in the north sure sounds loud fez. Well done Brighton fans
Meyler Fryatt Elmo I was there and Meyler had a brilliant game. Played the Busquets role of simple passes and good movement whilst breaking up play. Fryatt chased down well but we still had a huge need for Long and Jela. Elmo played well and was aided by the fact that Brighton didn't seem to have a right side. Aluko wasn't bad at all, needs game time but shows flashes of brilliance, no way he should be a sub for us, particularly when he has actual strikers to give service to in Long and Jela. Didn't understand Sagbo playing at LM when he is wuite obviously only a striker, didn't win any headers or put in any crosses out wide.
I got as far as the bit where you put Meyler and Busquets in the same sentence then stopped reading. Tonight was a prime example of why Meyler shouldn't be near the first team next season if we stay up. Not good enough.
Fryatt Elmo Davies Aluko was utter ****e ,he just kept falling over and can anyone explain why Meyler has to make such ridiculous challenges to give yet another freekick away that results in a goal. Neither should be in the starting eleven at present.
