S'funny one as if they beat us, I think they might well go down. Their fixture list will start to get stupid soon and Poyet isn't a rotator.
I wish I had your confidence mate but we have beaten a nine man Sunderland once and a ten man Sunderland once. I cannot see our 'second string' winning a third time, unless they get a couple of men sent off again. Still, it's a bit more money in the coffers but on tonights performance, although Matty Fryatt worked his guts out he is still a Championship Striker and just hasn't got it at this level. Same for Sagbo and Aluko. We certainly missed 'The Hudd' and seemed to have no direction. Again, we didn't get our fair share of the 'run-of-the-ball' especially when it mattered and we were guilty of some stray passing. But, a win is a win and we are in the next round.
We were a bit casual tonight - didn't really get out of second gear, but we didn't really need to either. Casually got 2 goals, then ground out the result once we'd realised we were letting them back into it.

Just got back. Enjoyed the game, only two gripes 1. Figueroa is woeful. He's a cross breed of Mendy and Zayatte. I feel uneasy whenever he's on the ball. 2. Koren is practically invisible all game. Not what he used to be
Just after ko in 2nd half Macca/Brady/Dudgeon came and sat in west stand. Macca wasn't on crutches, was weightbearing on his leg. Would have expected him on crutches and not walking unaided.
Let's not get carried away with the cup. Yeah, great if we can progress, but we're much less incisive without Long and Jelavic. IF we beat Sunderland we need to draw the winner of Sheff United and Charlton to get to the final, cos I can't see us getting the better of Everton/Arsenal/Man City...
Thought we looked very comfortable for about 70 mins, then took our foot off the gas, and allowed them back into the game. That said after they scored they never looked like scoring but neither did we.If we had banged in a third then we would have had four at least...Decent game, but geez the FA Cup isn't what it used to be.....Give the FA Cup winners a seat at the top table....FA Cup winners play the team finishing fourth for a place in the Champs League...unless the FA Cup winners come from the top four.
