Ade and I think Chadli were on two or three occasions. Wouldn't have made a difference though as they went all the way over across to the other side.

Lennon did fill in once or twice at LEFT BACK to his credit. But then someone had to cover that useless pile of crap that should have been there in the first place

Funny you should mention that. I was just remembering Olympic ice hockey is the one sport that compares well to football, IMO. The NHL has its points, but it's not as good. Too many games, talent divided among too many teams, playoffs that go on half the year...

I'm sure a while ago they developed something where the puck left a glowing trail across the ice which then faded. Basically like a computer game. I dunno whether this concept just died or if its something i just dreamt

that'd be useful for me! I'm looking at a completely different part of the rink most of the time.

Have we ever played so badly that a match thread has turned into an ice hockey discussion????

As you point out Rose being out of position wouldn't be a concern if other players were in the position to cover him, such as Sandro. Problem I have though is much like the one that you've raised about Paulinho. Rose just strolling back to defend. You gave the example further down the thread of Dani Alves but I would bet a lot of money that the when moves he is involved in break down he gets back sharpish. And if he didn't I am sure other Barca players would be in his face reminding him of his primary job. It's arguably more worrying that Rose was caught out of position repeatedly in midweek and yesterday and none of the other players where telling him to get back and deal with his man.

I really do wonder about the mentality of this Spurs team. We seem to turn up to games like Dnipro and Norwich with the attitude that we are better than them and don't need to try. Every year its games against relegation strugglers who we lose points to whereas our rivals swat them aside.

    "Curling" and "skeleton", RCL.

I enjoyed watching the curling. A few of those ladies were quite nice on the eyes. Especially one of the Russians.

Anyway, this should probably be in the bill nick thread! <laugh>

I prefer naming sports accurately ... like football...the possibilities are great...

geezers in tight shorts groping each other = rugby
junkies in spandex travelling really fast round europe = tour de france
maths for fat bloke = darts

maybe this should have its own thread <laugh>

...mine is how anyone can run in shoes with knives underneath.

...and spare a thought for the Russian Ice Hockey team in Sochi for failing to reach the showpiece final, knocked out in the QF's in normal time, but Putin has still insisted on 'sudden death'. :)

Get a cat. Stick em in front of the TV, and follow their head movements. :D
My cats' head used to move something mental if seeing ice hockey on the
TV (how they can visually track the puck is beyond me) .
