There have been discussions on here before about what money you actually get for the TV rights, here's the full table... please log in to view this image
Now you know why a tenth place finish would be so handy. More than cover our outlay on transfer fees for starters for the season. Nothing new from the table though.
Since I turned off the swearing filter, which I'd just been too lazy to do previous, I haven't seen the 3 dots. I still think we can get 9th btw. Is that money paid in a oner at the end of the season? I wonder how it would be spent, that is, would we use some to pay Dr Allam back then re-invest the rest or what? Almost 63m for last is mental.
For some reason I thought it was far higher, maybe I'm thinking about the overall package including parachute payments etc
Thanks Presumably though, the other columns are all dependant on league position (or not variable at all) and only the Live TV fee one depends on anything else. Hence why it's laid out that way.
The Live TV column is the only one that can vary, though it doesn't tell the full story, as obviously finishing in the top five gives you a massive additional increase for the following season.
So the difference between 10th and 14th is arguably around Livermore's potential fee. Big incentive for Bruce to try and keep the lads going to the last game, even if we become safe within the next month and have a tie at Wembley in our minds.
With the points so close in the bottom half of the table, there's a great opportunity to bump up our income by several million.
One assumes that if we did manage to get to the final, there would be a reasonable TV payment, it would be interesting to know if the club gets that or it is included in the amount they would get for winning or losing?
The FA Cup prize money is £1.8m for the winner, £900k for the runner-up and £450k for the losing semi-finalists, but I don't know if there's TV money on top of that(I assume there is).
Do they still split gate receipts or do Wembley take all of them now? 90000 people @ say 60 quid ave price is 2.5M each (give or take) if it is split
The gate receipts after the third round are split 45/45/10(10% going to the FA, with the balance split 50/50 between the clubs), but I don't think you get any of the gate receipts from the semi's and final at Wembley. We get about £125k for tonight's televised replay, another £10k for it being live on national radio and prize money of £180k if we win.
The only difference in the bottom half is the extra £1.1m per place on merit. The diff between 11th and 10th is a further £2m+. Interesting to see that the difference between 10th and 17th would pay for most of Long and Jelavic. We would get no more for finishing 17th than 18th (Everton would claim the diff) except a share of next year's bounty.
If I remember right, you are assumed to have a minimum of 10 games televised per season and get paid for that, even if you have less. However, you get paid extra for every game over 10 that is shown. I could be wrong/outdated though. Damn memory of mine. Edit http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...ize-money-for-next-seasons-title-winners.html "Under the 2010-13 deal, which expired this season, each club received a £13.8  million equal share each season plus £18.9 million from overseas rights. Clubs were further guaranteed a minimum of £5.78 million for live TV and highlights appearances. Manchester United earned the most from these facility fees, totalling £12.9  million from 25 live appearances. Some £88 million was paid out in parachute payments to clubs relegated over the last three seasons." So roughly 500k per televised game and a guarantee of 11 games televised. Figures up to 2013, wonder what they are for this season.
