QUOTE
Evening Standard:

Harry Redknapp is adamant his job at QPR is not under threat and remains confident the club will win promotion to the Premier League this season.

Redknapp has been left mystified by a report today which suggests that the QPR board are considering replacing him as manager.

QPR are in danger of missing out on automatic promotion following the 1-0 defeat at Charlton on Saturday, which was their third in a row. They trail Leicester and Burnley by 15 and seven points respectively, although they do have a game in hand.

However, Redknapp is unconcerned and told TalkSPORT: “There is always somebody who people talk to and they don’t like you and want to stick the boot in.

“This is the first blip we’ve had all season, it can happen. We have put a new team together and if you said at the start of the season that we’d make the play-offs, we’d have been quite happy. But when you’re up there all season, you get disappointed when you lose a few games.

“We can still make automatic, it’s not impossible. If we end up in the play-offs, I’d still fancy us.”

Significantly, QPR chairman Tony Fernandes also appears calm about the situation. Writing on his twitter account after the Charlton defeat, he said: “QPR fans. There are no quick fixes. This is a long term project and our support is unwavering.

“If we don't do it this season so be it. Not the end if the world. But we really go for it.”

Meanwhile, Redknapp has revealed he hopes top scorer Charlie Austin will return from a shoulder injury before the end of the season. The QPR boss also admitted he will undergo a knee replacement operation in the summer.UNQUOTE

Well, then...

Blip? Weve lost nearly 20 points on Leicester over a few months. The blip was that clean sheet run.

We were poor at the start, went through a once in a lifetime clean sheet run that masked all our problems to take us top, since then weve had consistent bottom half form.

weve not been able to score all season and are among the worst in the league at that and havent played a single good 90 minutes.

I hope Harry takes this opportunity to cast his net a little wider when player selection comes around for the next game.
Use all the players at his disposal, not just his regulars who haven't been up to expected standard.

Also, don't start another game with a single striker .................. we must attack and be seen to attack. GOALS, WE NEED GOALS, I TELL YOU!

How many games have we had either just 1 or 2 shots on target, or even none at all - the majority!

I don't understand why Kevin Bond keeps saying when we attack we are far too open - its down to them to coach the players how to defend in those situations. Other teams don't seem to struggle attacking and then defending.

We've all pointed out the problems with no pace in the side and yes even put out a team with zero pace, remember when he started with 5 cms?

Ladbroke's:-

There can’t have been too many squads in Championship history as strong as Queens Park Rangers’ this season, so promotion back in to the big time shouldn’t be too much of a stretch for Harry Redknapp.

Names like Joey Barton, Niko Kranjcar, Benoit Assou-Ekotto, Rob Green and Yossi Benayoun wouldn’t look out of place on Premier League team sheets, and that’s just a small sample size of the quality available to Harry Redknapp.

So the fact that QPR are lengthy 20/1 shots to win the Championship title with a third of the season still to play doesn’t reflect too well on the former Tottenham boss.

That’s a train of thought echoed by the Loftus Road head honchos, who are rumoured to be considering sacking Redknapp after a run of four league games where just one point has been added to their tally.

Recently sacked Swansea boss, Michael Laudrup, is the leading candidate to replace Redknapp should he be dispensed with and it’s thought after being shown the door unceremoniously in Wales, the Dane would be eager to get straight back into an English dugout.

With Leicester 15 points out of reach, the Championship title hasn’t been on QPR’s radar for some time.

The run of recent woe, which has seen Rangers lose three games on the spin, has engineered the west London side’s slip to seven points behind Burnley in the race to be the Championship’s runners-up, gaining automatic promotion in the process.

That points deficit leaves Rangers at 11/10 to be promoted, but they’ll likely have to settle for the lottery that is the Championship play-offs as a last chance to navigate a route back to the top flight.

With a new stadium planned and vast investment put into the playing staff, a continued slip in performance could see Redknapp ousted from Loftus Road as soon as Saturday, should Leeds get the better of his side.

Thanks for posting that. I actually listened to it, didn't make me feel much better. Going on and on about how Austin was our goalscoring machine; Warnock egging him on to say the owners don't know how hard the championship is (the old boys club at work); Redknapp denying any kind of knowledge of Dellatorre ('the chief scout got in him' 'let's hope he's good'); how lucky Sean Dyche is that he hasn't had injuries; he'll be taking the summer off for his knee replacement (my Mum's had one of these, it really will be a few months before he's taking training....oops, my mistake); slagging off the Times journo. Don't know how loudly the 3,500 R's at Charlton made their feeling evident, but its ok because Harry didn't hear anything.

Interesting times indeed. Leeds game massive in every sense.

As I put in my thread yesterday (my thread that bombed and didn't get one response after much effort!), we had some really good football between 5 to 8 games ago and we looked like we might be finding form. That was our best period this season so far but it was immediately followed by this streak of ****.

It was very loud after the final whistle. Some players started to clap us and walked towards us. They turned round at the half way line and went back to the tunnel. They could see and hear the strengh of feeling I'm sure.

I thought as much. Perhaps Harry's knee is interfering with his hearing.

It must be his old "selective hearing" problem again!!! He actually walked off down the touchline without looking at us. If he's bothered he wouldnt have needed his hearing, the hand gestures would have told him what we thought.

Have to say I havent been as angry at a Rangers display for a long time. The crowds response was totally justified in my mind, and I'm normally not one for slagging off our own team as I dont think it helps, but we were pitifull
