Personally I dont bare him any bad vibes at all, in spite of the nasty-taste-in-the-mouth ending to his Bristol City career.
He treated me, and over 3000 other delighted Bristolians with a footballing moment to cherish at Loftus Road a couple of seasons ago, and I will be forever wishing him well for the marvellous display of balance, audacity and power that freaked out the QPR public that day.

Maynard has scored 3 in his last 2 games, and I hope for his sake and the sake of English football that he continues on in like manner.
There is still time for you to play for your country Nicky, but now its ride-like-the-wind time

The club handled the situation badly,
When he refused to sign a new contract we should have put him up for sale.
If the rumoured £5,000,000+ was offered! why didn't we let him go?
Instead we kept him in the vague hope he'd sign again for us, we got angered at the fact that he didn't want to stay with us (who could blame him as we were struggling for survival) and offloaded him in a panic sell for a fraction of the offers for him in the summer. All of this done in bad blood.

If Nicky Maynard ever plays for England, then there is a major problem in the England squad. Fat Sam realised he isn't Premiership quality so off loaded him to Cardiff who in turn loaned him out. I'm a big fan of Maynard but his limit is Championship I'm afraid.

Maynard needs to play a full season to get back to full fitness - then who knows he may kick on

Nobody came out of the Maynard contract affair with any credit - the club for letting it drag on so long - Maynard for what he said when he left - elements of the City crowd who abused his family

Nobody abused Mr Maynards family, nobody racially abused them and nobody threw missiles at them as Mr Maynard claimed. The only person who has claimed that has happened is Mr Maynard. No witnesses and in this day of ultra-surveillance no cctv evidence either. It is lie.

Mr Maynard cheated BCFC on and off the pitch. His performance at Coventry where he stood motionless on the half way line in protest at not being allowed to take a free kick was disgusting.

You cant blame Maynard for the mess that ensued.

Blame the stupid chairman for not biting Leicesters hand off at £5m

Maynard was a good signing for us and I don't what anyone else says, IMO was badly handled by the board, what will always hamper him is his legs being prone to injury..apart from that a very good striker.

Not our player, not our concern, we've got massive problems that are a lot more important than him, I couldn't care less about him.

    ...What?

How on earth can you possibly say that none of these things happened, because Nicky Maynard didn't provide the fans with CCTV proof of these abuses happening? Some pricks threw a bin through my window a few weeks ago. Does my lack of CCTV mean that I made it up? I've never heard anything so stupid in all my life.

No whats. Within a football ground in 2012 amongst thousands of fans, and CCTV somebody would have seen his family being abused and missiles being thrown at them. These crimes were not mentioned or reported at the time. It was a lie.

Remember that you're talking about Ashton Gate. There's nothing 2012 about our ground. Also, who is to say that nothing was spotted, and if so, why should it be reported to the fans?

Does that mean that the women that Jimmy Saville abused were lying because they didn't report their crimes? You don't make any sense.

Who knows if they were reported or not? Do you have some insider knowledge to know that a complaint wasn't given to the Police?

The match was at Coventry. If fans had seen women being abused and having bottles thrown at them in the away end they would have not been reported they would have been sorted out by fans. On par with sex cases thst sort of behaviour but those who went to the game know it can't have happened.

It was at a modern stadium i.e. The Ricoh. If it had happened at Ashton Gate it also would have been witnessed by somebody.

A family being abused by fans, a family having missiles thrown at them in front of thousands of potential witnesses in what is an an open bowl. Nobody saw his occur, or claimed it did except a player who left BCFC with a sour taste, and a big cheque in his pocket after claiming he would sign a new contract.

Not hard to come to a conusion the bloke is a fantatist.

Maybe, and our board are a liability for their handling of the entire situation

The bloke said he wouldn't go to Leicester, would sign a new contract, and eventually played so badly he stripped himself of value anyway. It was hard for BCFC to combat that without hindsight. The money received was over the top on his form. The man has not played like a five million pound player he was once meant to be for any period since.

To be fair, he has hardly been given a show of confidence by either West Ham or Cardiff
Who is to know how he would have faired in the Prem. My opinion is he would have become a top striker. Certainly there are worse forwards playing in the Prem for both WH & Baaaadiff

Thing is Wiz, we cant keep wallowing in our **** and misery without some kind of break.
We have the right as former supporters of the player to express an opinion on Maynard, and by way of appreciation for the great goals he scored in his penultimate season.
I really thought he was going to be special - he certainly looked it that year, and if we didnt have him we could have been in trouble that season.
And we all know what that looks like
