Things have been far worse of course but I don't think I've ever left a game hating the team as much as I did yesterday.
Some people were saying we have played better without Barton in the team, well that's now been laid to rest.
Things certainly have been worse for us, and yesterday was not the worst I have seen in the past few years. It wasn't quite as bad as the Premiership team last season either. I can't help but feel stupid for moaning considering we are 4th, externally we must look so ungrateful! So many clubs would want to be where we are right now. But the fact is, we all know that we are so lucky to be 4th as we just haven't played well all season. In fact, I can't remember the last time we played well for a whole game? Even on the couple of occasions we have played well this season it was in 30 minute spells max. It does seem that putting injuries to one side, something is drastically going wrong at the moment, and I do get the feeling all is not well in the squad.
8 loanees, constant change in team selection and formation, an apparently non-inspiring manager who shows all the signs of wishing he was somewhere else. It's a miracle we are fourth. Read Clive's report, excellent piece.
