Great to see Liverpool have such a lethal attack this year, 66 league goals so far! Only 1 team in the top European leagues have scored more league goals than Liverpool so far this season, $ity on 68! Thats right so far we have scored +1 more than Real, +3 Barca, +10 Juventus, +11 PSG, +13 Bayern and +25 Manure. Would just like to applaud BR for transforming a team that couldn't hit a barn door into one of the most prolific teams in europe in under 2 years. lets not talk about the defense for now! Keep it up lads!!
Game against Tottenham is now very important....(all games are important}. Tottenham are getting too close for comfort.
It really is a diverse and top class attack we have. We have skill, guile, intelligence and speed. I suppose we lack a physical option to become a truly well rounded attack but so far, so good. Just really need to work on the players behind the attack and we'll be immense!
I usually refer to this as the Kevin Keegan school of managerial tactics. Makes for great games but doesn't do my heart any good! please log in to view this image
one good season for sure but the front two look full of scoring even if suarez is in the midst of a slump for him. lets see when we are champions and playing CL if we can repeat "before praising too early" I'm sure in a couple years the defence will be brought up to snuff... cos frnakly once the dross is replaced it will have to. (full backs)
So currently still second in Europe for league goals, this time behind Real on 71, joint with Barca 70 and +1 City. We are also tracking at the moment to score 98 goals this season, the question is can we break Chelsea's record of 103 which would require us to better 3 goals a game for the rest of the season. Looking at the games we have left I'd say it was unlikely, but if Suarez got his scoring boots on again who knows?
We've got 70 goals in 27 games, that's 2.6 goals per game (near enough). If we continue that rate for the remaining eleven games then that's another 28.6. Rounded off, that's a total of 99 However (you knew that was coming didn't you?), we have to play Man City, Chelsea and Tottenham at home and Man Utd away within those matches. Can we average 2.6 goals a game in these fixtures or can we bag our regualr four or five against Norwich and Spurs
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2566314/Rocknroll-Rodgers-Anfield-boss-promises-thrills-coming-goes-goal-scoring-charts.html A couple more records too. From the Mail
Another goal fest means we are only 21 goals short of Chelsea's PL record. Also now only 7 short of Utd's PL away goals record! I think it still going to be difficult to win it, may have to win all our games, which would also mean another record winning streak, but it's Great to see LFC scoring for fun. Suarez second goal was brilliant to watch!
