Yes but don't worry, they'll get spanked as soon as they eventually come up against someone half decent.
Us certainly. Yes United are playing bad bit on a individual level they have better players now compared to what we did. They have better Gk, better forwards dear prob had better cbs and certainly midfield though. We had Traore FFS We just had a manager who was a tactical genius in European 2 legged games, something which is still overlooked by vast majority of people when they talk about Rafa.
I have my problems with Rafa but the man was a fantastic cup manager and still is. If we could have Rodgers for the league and Rafa for the cups... Still, I'm slightly worried about that possibility - after all, we won it with a worse team and loads of luck. The way things have gone for us for the past few years it wouldn't surprise me to see United fluke it. That's why we need to target higher than 4th (avoid a tricky playoff) and I think we can do it.
Utd will get to quarters but any sort of draw will knock that lot out After all Chelsea stole it totally I cannot see utd being sound enough defensively to hold out a team with 60% possession min
Excuse me but lfC had come decent players in 2005.... What good cbs have utd left? Jones, vidic, small ing? You cannot mean Evans surely ( dive in with two feet then roll about like you got shot merchant) Utd have Rooney and RvP and f all else of cl quality Barca and bayern let alone Chelsea and real and psg in the qf if utd miss all of those it's pure luck
Yes, generally. But his tactics at the start of the final were woefully wrong. He put it right at half time, but it was the grit and determination of the men on the pitch (helped by a large slice of luck) that won the game. As pointed out, Moyesey is no Rafa, and while it's not beyond the bounds of possibility that Utd could win it, I doubt that I'll be losing any sleep over it for the moment.
I've said it before and I'll say it again - Dissect the United team and there'll be 3 maybe 4 players out of the entire squad that would walk in to any other team and that's pushing it. Rooney proved that there was only one other team that were interested and that was Chelsea, no other club showed any interest in him. RVP is at the wrong end of the age scale but would still give another club a season or two. Oh look, I've just discredited my own claim - there would be only 2 and even then it would be a gamble so no, United don't have a better team than we did in 05. Still don't think we should focus on what the others around us are doing, we are the masters of our own destiny and as long as we keep playing out these wins, then we should be fine
look in 2005 lets call a spade a spade. we defending like mad v chelski and juve and got breaking goals. its the same sor tof thing chelski did. no matter what we say rafa had a MIXED cup record. won 2, lost 2 finals and threw a lot of chances away as well... especially in league cup. i can rememebr raging after seeing him bascially pick crap and lose. FOr me the central point here is not rafa, not di matteo but UTD. Utd are NOT going to beat a decent side over two legs. thay got a sweet heart draw compared to city and arsneal as a reward for beating a weak leverkusen side for 1st in an east group evidence? leverkusen hammers by psg in the next round. Utd will be in the QF team that should be there with them are: cheslea Barca Bayern Real Atletico PSG Dortmund now lets be serious here for just one minute. there are maybe 2 teams MAX that utd might get a result off here. PSG and dortmund. but i simply cannot see them getting a result of anyone else over two legs. the secret to utd's european success previously (btw not so hot) has been away goals, utd would pop one in and make it much easier Can anyone see the negative nora do anything bar pack midfield and lump it to sideshow bob? For me the only question in my mind is whether utd get beat or hammered. I personally hope they get a narrow loss so moyes can cling on unitl say next august when he's sacked at the end of the transfer window for buying some more donkeys and giving them 250k per week.
We only had Traore due to injuries though. First choice was Finnan, Carra, Hyypia & Riise which was better than tge current Man Utd backline IMO. Our regular midfield was Alonso, Gerrard, Sissoko plus one other too, also better IMO. The current Man Utd attack and keeper are better though.
